Hartline had two receptions for 13 yards. According to ESPN box scores, he was targeted twice with a 100% success rate. It meant little in the game, but it was a good start for a rookie.

He had a nice catch on 4th down in traffic while taking a hit. Nice to see that out of a rookie!

He also had a 1st down play called back for pass interferance(sp). I like the kid but it was just another mistake in a game full of them.

Randy Moss pushes off all the time.......seems our rook may need a couple more years in the league to get that kind of consideration.

Hartline ran at the cornerback and seemed to run block him for a second before pushing off to make the catch. I have no idea what he was thinking.

Wow, this guy is seriously the most overrated player on our team. He makes one good catch in the preseason, now everyone's got a hard-on for him. I think Turner will end up a better player. Give him some time.

There's a reason Hartline is getting receptions while Turner is inactive.

Hartline's faster, smarter, quicker, and is in Chad Pennington's ear a lot.

Turner has height and size over Hartline. That's it.

That pass interference was weak. Even the announcers said so. That penalty was huge. After that happened Pennington uncharacteristically forced a ball that was intercepted on 2nd and 18. Without that penalty that drive was looking very promising.

umm actually the announcers were laughing at the fact it looked like he was run blocking all the way down the field

This. He went up to the cornerback, grabbed him and pushed off. 2nd time this year already

Wake was inactive, too, but that doesn't mean he won't be our starter someday over those current 2nd string guys. Some players take more time to develop than other.

I just don't understand the love affair with Hartline. He doesn't seem to have much upside in terms of untapped talent, IMHO. Camarillo serves his role perfectly. We don't need a Camarillo version 2.0, which is what Hartline is (smart and quick, but NOT fast - his 40 time was 4.53 at the combine and Turner's was 4.58 at USC Pro Day). Turner has the size and he has got great hands, too, to fill a role on this team none of the other WRs or TEs (except for Haynos maybe) on this team can fill.

Mark my words, Turner will beat out Hartline on the depth chart by the end of the year. I also think Haynos will contribute this year, too, much like Martin did last year.
