this kid's a straight beast...i watched the Texas&Missouri game tonight,as i'm sure some of you did,and let me tell you that Orapko made Missouri's backfield his home all game long,he owned it...if he wasn't sacking Daniel,he was bringing all kinds of pressure, even forcing a couple of picks of Chase Daniel...it wouldn't hurt my feelings at all to see him in a Dolphins uniform bringing that kind of pressure to opposing QBs for us...i bring him up cause i've seen him mentioned a few times from a few of you guys out there,so i decided to watch him tonight...thoughts on the guy?

i love the kid. if we end up in the mid to late teen or early 20s somehow and curry is off the board dont be surprised to see this kid get selected. he would take over Math Roths spot perfectly.

Joey Porter's replacement but we will have to sacrifice and trade up to get him.

He is the perfect fit for us at OLB. It's too bad he is on such a good team, there is little chance he'll slide in the draft.

I have him on my mock with a trade up scenario but the way things are going he may become unobtainable.

Really like this kid. Straight up beast that's a perfect fit for the 3-4 OLB position. If only he slips to the second round, so miami can grab him like they did with philip merling

overrall, it's nice to see that the top of the draft offers lots of possibilities for holes on our team... maualuga, orakpo, M.Johnson, M.Jenkins, V.Davis, W.Moore and some would consider Laurinaitis...

but those are basically 7 players that could step up right now for a starting role for us.

With the quality and quantity of the OT class that should be chosen in the top 10 and one or two RB prospects that should be chosen in the top 15. if we are picking, lets say around 15, there should be one of the 7 boys i've just named available for us !

http://sports.espn.go.com/broadband/video/videopage?videoId=3650227...go to that link right there and watch the video on Orapko in the gym,the guy's a monster in the gym...there's even a couple of clips of him sacking QBs and his feelings on it...i really want this guy in a phins uniform badly...i think our pass rush would be just beastly with him out there....

mmm the link is working but i dont find the video with him in the gym....

EDIT: nevermind i used the search bar on the top and found it... nice video hehe

his stock will shoot up draft boards, if vernon's draft status went up to #6 just because of workouts, expect orakpo to go AT LEAST at #6, because he is obviously more fluid, fast and has good technique

you see why i wanna see him in a phins uniform, the guy's a monster, and will do just nicely playing for Miami....

yeah he looks quite solid and could definitely be a force at the OLB spot, but from the looks of it he won't be available when we draft... except if we end up in the top5 picks heh..

Orakpo is good....but keep in mind he was beating a freshman tackle....with the same pass rush move every time.....a rip move...

Loadholt owned Orakpo last week...

thats true, the only way MIA will get its hands on BOTH Curry or Orakpo,is if we trade back in the first to get them, and even so,the only way I can TRUTHLY see MIA trading back in the first,is if both slip past 25,and if they dont have to give up both 2nd round picks, for example if MIA would give up MIA's second and a third or fourth,or maybe next years first and this years fourth or fourth, but still thats very slim chance cause Sparano and Parcells arent to found in trading first day picks, but then again the 3-4 linebackers in this draft will most likely last no longer than third round,so its not so far fetched' MIA may trade back into the first for these studs, cause there isnt much left after them....

he had 2 sacks, 4 tackles for loss and forced a fumble... explain to me how does a LT own a DE that puts up those numbers on him ?:ponder:

i don't think so on Loadholt owning Orapko....10/16 Update: No defensive lineman is having a year better than Orakpo. After just six games, the defensive end has tallied 12 tackles-for-loss, eight sacks and 16 quarterback hurries. Orakpo went up against Oklahoma offensive tackle Phil Loadholt in the Red River Rivalry and absolutely dominated the big lineman. That alone nearly boosted Orakpo into the first round.

Orakpo is a better prospect than Vernon Gholston IMO....gets involved on more plays....but Loadholt has nothing to do with the FF....that's on the ball carrier...

Sam Bradford threw for 5 TD's against Texas....largely due to Loadholt handling Orakpo....I saw Loadholt own Orakpo more than Orakpo owned Loadholt...took him all the way to the ground on more than one occasion...

It's more of a tribute to how underrated Loadholt may be IMO....even though some might have him as 1st round material........not knocking Orakpo...

Sergio Kindle is also a nice looking player....but benefits from having Orakpo on the other side.

i didn't watch the whole game so i can't say...but he's currently the DE with the best stats in college and he played against good teams...

i'm pretty sure loadholt won some battles against orakpo but when you allow 2 sacks and multiple tackles for loss my guess is the DE got the better of you, even if the offence scored 40-or-so points. And the bottom line is oklahoma lost. From the looks of it orakpo will be a top 10 pick... except if concerns for his knee keep growing...
