High five!
I'm sure you all remember this guy, prior to his hip injury he was a monster and one of the nation's best defensive lineman. I think he also led the nation in sacks for awhile. Either way, he's one of those guys with a lot of talent who's stock has dropped due to a major injury.
It looks like Miami has been showing a lot of interest in him; Here's an e-mail written by Brian Smith's agent to Scott Wright over at nfldraftcountdown.com
"The update on Brian is the following Scott. He did position drills for Jacksonville, Miami, New York Giants and Tampa Bay on 3/22 at Mizzou second pro day. Was not completely 100% but performed well and worked through some soreness during the drills. Jacksonville had there D Line coach in attendance. He also did 21 reps on 225.
The hip bone has healed and he is just getting acclimated in running, jumping and cutting. He is not at 100% at this moment but will be there by draft day. We are looking to schedule a workout at Mizzou for April 2nd or 3rd were he will complete all the running workout test. This will be confirmed on Mon. or Tues of next week once we get with the doctors and medical staff.
He has visits set up with Chicago and Jacksonville. Cleveland is planning on setting up a visit next week. We have also had interest significant interest from Miami, Tampa, Giants and 49ers.
