The sad thing is since McMichael left the best season any TE has had is 41 receptions . Jesus TE has been a mess since 2007.
Fasano was a serviceable number 2 TE but we haven't had a good starting TE since McMichael. In fact Since 1994 the only TE after Keith Jackson to break 50 receptions was Randy McMichael.
Randy's bad years were Fasano's good years. McMichael would still probably outperform what we have at TE but he is definitely not the answer. Im hoping Sims suprises us that's about our only chance unless Egnew had a talent and heart transplant

im all for bring randy back, he'd prob be a great assistant TE's coach. maybe even make his way up to TE coach. I was a huge fan of his, but at his age with his wear and tear I don't see him beneficial to the club.

Look at it this way McMicheal didn't play much last year so he is fresh. Really the only time he has hit or been hit recently involves a woman so he should have a lot of gas left in the tank.
