Yes, I know his skills have declined. I know he is a 4-3 MLB. But, I also know that he can cover and tackle better than Crowder and Ayodele combined. Even, if he is used only as a nickel LB, he would make more plays than the starters.

Hell, use him at FS. I would trust him there more than Gibril Wilson. He would probably be more productive on sheer hustle and heart alone.

I just miss the guy and what his leadership and hustle brings to the defense.

No. I'm as big a fan of Zach's as anyone's but he would add very little to this defense.

I have to agree with you here crowder and ayodele are lb's and they cant tackle and the give up to easily. i think we can use zach as a leader one of the few people i believe is a true football player in and out. I still think tuna getting rid of him was a mistake.

I was only half serious about the FS thing, but I still say that Zach would help in a coverage type role at LB. He wouldn't get worn down playing the run, and his leadership and playmaking abilities would help a lot.

I kinda understand why the trifecta got rid of him. We were trying to rebuild with younger and bigger talent. Zach is more of a MLB and smaller. The big thing is, as you said, he is a football player, he is smart, goes sideline to sideline, can tackle with the best of 'em, and can make plays in coverage. I understand that he is not what he used to be, but he still has value in a more limited role. I would bet that he would sign for next to nothing, so what's the risk? I'm sure there is someone worth cutting to open a roster spot. Matter of fact, someone should have been cut after Monday night, just to set an example.

Zach should have never been released, all the "He is to small talk" is bull****, he overcame those odds his whole career. I know people argue he is to small for the 3-4, but coming into the league he was to small for the NFL.

Well, Zach probably would give a hometown discount, as well as not gripe about playing time, and he CAN tackle well. However, he doesnt fit the defense we run now, and so it's not likely that Parcell's and Co would bring in a player who can ONLY be used situationally when versatility has been one of their major points of emphasis.

What if we just put Zach in on rare occassions, maybe just psychologically it would mness up other teams. The AFC only knows the Zach from the Dolphins where he was a menace. maybe they would change up plays that would keep them from success!

we need him to be the "qb" of the defense because we DO NOT have one at all and crowder is far from that
