Bring on the Beef Part 2

Looking at the current roster on the Dolphins official website and right now even with adding Jake Long to the roster we currently have 8 offensive Lineman on or squad.

3 tackles in Long, Carey and Wilson. 2 centers in Satele and Mormino who can also play guard. 3 guards in Smiley, Darilek and Ndukwe.

Now looking at the rosters of everyone else in our division and you see the Patriots with 11 lineman, Buffalo with 12 lineman and the Jets with 13 lineman.

Now look at the majority of our FA signings and most of them are DBs, LBs and defensive lineman and you can see the Parcells and Ireland were telling us months ago on how they would use their picks this weekend.

At the very least 3 of our 9 picks will be used on drafting lineman this year which would give us 10 on the roster and then invite a undrafted lineman to camp. I noticed a few guys on here have Andrew Bain the OG from the hurricanes on their mock draft. If I take any lineman from the Hurricanes it would be Derrick Morse who can play G and C. Bain is notorious for having problems keeping his weight under control and motivation issues, not qualities Parcells looks for. Morse on the other hand works his butt off and at the very least be a serviceable backup and will most likely go undrafted.

The moral of the story? Look for 3 lineman to be drafted this year which I am all for, at the very least we can square away our offensive line this year and focus on other areas in the next 2 drafts. Would be nice for a change to be able to say we have a great offensive line again.

I don't see us drafting 3 linemen. We have to many needs. I think we'll draft one more. I think we will fill out the line with FA signings from the June 1st salary cap cuts.

No thanks on picking up other teams trash after the cuts, we have done that for too long now. Will be interesting to see how the new head office handles this draft.

I still think we take minimum 3 lineman from the draft this year. I know we have needs at just about every position on the team but with 4 out of 5 lineman in place why not finish it off properly this year?

IMO we'll take another OT at 2a, and then probably add another (OG) in the middle and a spec OL at the end, + we'll take 2-3 OL in UFA.

I was thinking the only way we take another OL at 2A would be if Cherilus were to fall in our lap there. Otherwise I think we wait until the 3rd round before going with interior lineman especially if the phins think Greco may come off the board before the 4th round. They seem to have shown him alot of interest along with Murphy from Utah State.

I don't see us drafting another tackle early, unless one of the solid first round guys, like Williams or Otah were to somehow fall...and I don't consider Cherilus to be elite, even at RT. We already have two very solid, and young, tackles starting for us, why would we spend a second rounder on a guy who is going to be firmly planted on the bench? I could definitely see us spending a second or third rounder on a guard such as Rachal, Schuening or Greco. And I'm sure we will add at least one more o-lineman on day two. I see the 2a pick being used on either a pass rusher or a QB.
