Tonight's bs from Cromwell was a last straw for me. I've been pretty ticked off the last few days of what I have suspected to be either a publicity stunt aimed at breaking down the NFL or possibly salvaging Martin's career. That or the obvious litigious money grab. Either way, tonight's statement makes it painfully clear that Jonathan Martin's endgame isn't just taking his ball and going home - it's burning down the field so nobody else can play.

I'm more than tired with this entitled victim mentality that has been perpetuated in this society, and Jonathan Martin is clearly poster child number 1 on that. He was told how amazing he was growing up by lawyer mommy and daddy....and he was until he got to the NFL. There, everyone is awesome and quite frankly he blew. His weakness physically improved but mentally we all now know it didn't. Not everybody gets a ribbon or prize, stop telling your kids that, or they grow up to be a pansy ass narcissist like this.

Speaking of his mommy and daddy. I don't have a quarrel or qualm with their success. I strive for my level of success daily and don't believe being successful is a negative. However, I do believe the sense of entitlement that comes with success for some people is a negative. Because the timing of everything hitting the fan circles the Martin family getting involved I have to believe this is more than clearing their son's name and I hope they are very let down and disappointed in him when the find out what he was doing in south beach the last year and a half.

Now his original action deserves a special place in hell to me. I'm 32 now, played sports my whole life to this day and I have never once quit or abandoned a team. I've cut trips short, nights at the bar ended early, drove for hours to make games and never once did I think to abandon those men who counted on me. If you are going to leave your commitment do so after a season when the organization can regroup. If this is genuinely a spontaneous reaction it shows what an emotionally immature person Jonathan Martin is. I believe it was calculated though to make the most of his leaving the nfl and fulfilling an agenda.

So all this is to say support our Fins. Don't let Martin's agenda win, don't let the media win, and don't let our hard working and committed 53 lose. Educate your friends with the facts, update facts on social media, cancel the Fireland plane and change it to #freeincognito. If you're down there in Florida I implore you with the utmost sincerity to go to the games and be as loud as God can grant you the strength to be for the rest of this season. Show everyone in the country one entitled prick can't take our beloved franchise down.

So true.

I'm NOT an Ireland fan -- and I totally blame Ireland for this Martin fiasco -- choosing a weak-minded player and pretending that he can be depended on at LT -- all on Ireland. That said, it is NOT time to bag on Ireland. That would be feeding into Martin's agenda. Instead, stand tall for the team and let the TRUTH set Cogs free.

#freeincognito is it.

Thanks, Ruckus.

Hell yeah!
Great post Ruck.

Thanks man,

I think it's time we all get our unity straight just like the locker room did. Put the Ireland and Philbin bashing aside for a bit. Rally around our guys who are getting handed to them what no 25ish year old guy should. They should be trying to win football games, have fun, and stay healthy as a unit - not fight the press of the US.

I hear ya bro but I get the feeling that the fans in s. fla. are as lathargic as Martin.

but I know this...if I were a disgruntled season ticket holder or lived down there, I would show up to show my support for sure and I would bring my sign.

"Suck it Shefter!"

Yea. I was thinking about Ireland. And as another poster said and I'll take it further. Ireland brought this mess to the Dolphins by picking Martin. He needs to fired just for that. Ross has got to make an example of somebody to save face even if its for PR sake. He's a so-so GM anyway and the fact that they haven't improve that much in two years it seems, 7-9, 8-8 at best means he needs to go. Bottom line weather you agree or not about his GM abilities, he drafted the weak minded Martin. I'm not saying Martin does not have a right to feel what he feels. It's just that the NFL is not for him.

Martin says he teammates made threatening and harassing comments. What does he think the opposing players are going to do to him? "Please Mr. Martin, let me by so I sack your QB". No they say, "Look dude, get out the way before I spit in your face". I guess he got out of the way because he gave up a lot of sacks since he's been a Dolphin. I'm exaggerating, maybe, I don't know, but the point is he does not belong in the NFL.

Cromwell rhetoric pissed me off also. The big PR machine has arrived and it really stinks that this jerkoff even has a forum. If you know anything about PR and PR damage control it's always use your clients first name as much as possible. Jonathan this and Jonathan that....Michael didn't mean to hurt those dogs.....O.J. simply wanted his memorabilia back.....Lee Harvey had nothing to do with hurting President Kennedy!!!!!!!!!! And now we have poor, abused Jonathan, lost his starting job and his teammates we're mean to him. Hey, retire, walk away, nobody has a gun to your head making you play football but this carefully considered agenda of making the NFL and the Dolphins look bad and to try to grab money makes "Jonathan" a major prick, a rat and a scumbag. All that crap the guy wrote about him wanting to get back to the game he loves, BULL****! He's crapping all over the game and the team that gave him a chance to excel as a football player. You didn't excel, you weren't even average, we blew a #2 on your worthless ass, can't you just quietly go away?

Any opposing fans chortling over this fiasco are in for a rude awakening. It's all been orchestrated, down to the theatrical storming out of the cafeteria with an eye towards a class action suit and legal precedent that redefines traditional locker room mischief and bonding as "work place harassment." This will enable all most anybody, especially the fringe players over the last few decades to eke out of the woodwork to join in for a big NFL payday. I guarantee you once the bough has broken, what's been transpiring here is not an anomaly - disgruntled soft players who couldn't hack it across the league will be feasting on the NFL's deep pockets unless they nip it in the bud, killing it decisively "with prejudice" so to speak.

If anybody didn't think that Martin was a spineless scumbug who'd rather burn the league down than even talk to his hierarchy of coaching staff, they certainly should now. If not, I've got a shiny bridge I'd love to sell them spanning Manhattan and Brooklyn

Awesome post. Agree with all of it. If Jon Martin or anyone in his "camp" thinks that he will ever be welcome in a locker room again they are living in a world of denial. Not only did this guy walk out on his team, he is a narc / rat. You have to be physically and mentally tough to play in the league. He has proven to be neither. While there are no winners in a situation like this, my only hope is that this team will unite and rally around each other and go out and win some games in the second half of the season. The next couple of weeks will show us the true character of this team which i believe to be strong. After watching and hearing all the player interviews yesterday it made me proud to be a Dolphins fan. I hate seeing the Miami Dolphins name being dragged through the mud. It pisses me off, and yesterday showed that is pissed off the players as well. Having that "us against the world" mentality could do wonders. Lost in all this bull**** is the goal, which is to win football games. #freeincognito #FinPride

Vaark, I'm ok with spineless scumbag. I think you see pretty clearly the game at hand. I hope others catch on and shut down this epic horse**** routine. I'll be happy to play a game Monday night and take out our anger on Tampa Bay!

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback.

Sadly in our society we have become so overly passive and politically correct you are now guilty until proven innocent as long as you area accused with a few key words. Racist, terrorist, bigot, bully, and homophobic to name a few instantly put you into the guilty box which is damn near impossible to overturn that perception. There will be no fanfare when the Dolphins are cleared, there will be no around the clock coverage when it turns out Cog wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary, there will be no apology on ESPN. That's why I say it's imperative as fans we stick together to trumpet the facts to those around us who might be clueless.

I tell you one good thing though. I have gained a lot of respect for many on this board who through all the ridiculous fire Ireland, fire Philbin, start over, whoa-is-me threads stuck to the facts and realized Martin's game at hand. Not only that, have been sure to defend the organization that most of us have supported since we were little kids. Kudos to all of you.

I agree 100% and I have since day 1 of this BS!
For his lawyer to release that trash shows Martin is not only the biggest twatt in the NFL, he is a scum bag POS. He is trying to bring down the whole franchise. I'm not going to lie, in my college baseball locker room if someone had a hot sister or MOM that same type of **** was said. It got even worse when we were partying after a long week of practice/ games etc.
I have no sympathy for Jonathan martin he is a weak, spineless, no good, disgrace, greedy, POS, mommy's tit hanging, entitled, POS.
I had some guy on facebook tell me "you won't say that to his face" You are God damned wrong, I would tell him that right now. He is to fcking soft to do **** about it.
Damnit I'm getting all fired up. I can't wait until Monday night so I can watch a game and not a media witch hunt. BTW if Martin was white the media wouldn't give a ****

I played also and we talked so much crap to each other it would make a stripper blush. Even on the team I play now we talk trash about everyone on the team, especially if you screw up a play or strike out looking badly. This should go away, Martin should go away and Richie should get back at left guard.
