Brock Berlin?

1st q- Feeley, 2nd- Gus, 3rd- Sage, and 4th will be Brock thats wut its gonna be tomorrow

after watching him for the last two year at UM i think hes a great pocket passer who plays great when hes losing but hes a horrible play action quarterback.

Yes, no. The only curiosity I have is that IMO Berlin really has no chance to be anything above a third QB (and I think that's a stretch). Saban appears to have a higher opinion of Berlin. I'm curious to see if Saban is good at evaluating QBs. I have a great deal of confidence in Saban's other coaching skills and I think that whether we find a QB or not is the only thing that may stand in the way of the team's ultimate success. I feel NE got lucky to find Brady and BB and company wouldn't be geniuses if Brady had taken up golf or something instead.

Yes, and yes. Saban does have a high opinion of Berlin. If Berlin somehow turns into a good QB who only needs a year on the PS to develop into a great one (note: that was me being an optimist), then we could possibly use that first pick for someone else.

think they will actually let him play tomorrow? and do you care?
Will BB play tomorrow? He must play in order to show his real capabilities.
Do i care? Of course. Our couch needs many guys to throw balls and follow an offensive scheme just for trainning, but more important: to improve.

Saban wants to develop post 2006 QBs, he needs to build a strong offense able to win games.
Our weakest position by far is QB, and there are two ways to get a good QB, you may be persistent and train train train with a "normal" group of QB to improve and get a good starter. Or you may buy (by draft, free agency, trade) a strange, extraordinary man to lead your offense, but that's harder today than ever, because valuable QB are retained by their teams.
Saban knows that and you may evaluate how well he knows that in the way he didn't waste a 1st round in Rodgers who will be shinning as a superstar in 4+ seasons and Saban wants to improve sooner.
Our couch will build a solid running attack that will bring space for "normal" QB to stablish a passing scheme. RB was our headache last season and that's why Saban used his first pick to draft a lethal weapon like Ronnie.
This season will be to test men like A.J. Feeley, Sage Rosenfelds, Brock Berlin, Ricky Williams, David Boston, Chris Chambers, and many linemen who will "make" the team, but will continue under inspection and running their last chance to become part of Saban's team.

I am looking forward to seeing Brock play and i am praying he doesnt mess up. I hope he plays really good cause his heart alone deserves to be in the NFL even if its a third-stringer. The guy has talent, he's just had a bad rap cause he stunk it up his junior year. Just like the other post said, he improved greatly for his senior year run but still got crapped on because we had an injured O-line and a mediocre defense.

A lot of people here know i dont like Sage so im rooting for Brock to take his spot...

Our only way to know if Brock is more than just a simple 3rd + stringer is to make him play.
Saban saw something in him and i hope to see it next Monday.

I really don't see a starting QB playing the entire first half until the 3rd or 4th preseason game. Generally, they'll play only a couple of series in the first game and a quarter in the second.
Agree, but Saban also needs to see what A.J. may bring and evaluate.
I think that A.J. will throw during 1st quarter and perhaps another serie at 2nd. Then we'll see some of Gus running the offense and then during 2nd half we'll have a mix of Sage and Brock's chance (without Williams, Boston or Chambers)

Of course Saban has a high opinion of Berlin. Berlins is from La..I'm sure Saban tried to recruit him to LSU before he committed to UF.

This is correct.

Possibly and every now and then. I think brock will play the second half of the second game and sage will play the second half of the bears game. Gus will play 3 plays, killing 3 drives, and Nick will pull him.

anybody know how tall berlin is? in some of the pics ive seen he looks to short to be an above average qb in the nfl
