Brock Jensen Brings Championship Pedigree To Dolphins

The third QB spot should be a developmental guy you feel has a chance to be good one day.....Devlin is going into his fourth season as this guy, its either already here or getting to be time that they feel he is still that guy or find a new prospect to groom.

I didn't see enough from Devlin in the last camp to say with any certainty that he has a bright future. If Jensen displays the ability to make all the throws and shows real potential in camp it will not shock me if Devlin is replaced.
agreed. It's time for Devlin to show something.

This guy wont make it past the first or second round of training camp cuts

You're probably right, BUT OTOH when the smoke clears, if the coaches who re-engineered Foles and to whom Aaron Rodgers has attributed much of his professional growth collectively determine that Jensen has beaten out a QB from a more competitive conference with 3 professional years experience, then it would be difficult not to realign that thinking .

One think working in Jensen’s favor is that he was brought in by this regime. Seems to be a very high character guy, and that was a good example of a guy saying the right things. Devlin has done nothing to advance and you have to wonder what a guy like this can do if given the opportunity Devlin has had. I said it when we picked him up, Jensen is like Andy Dalton. Great deal of experience at the college level, but all the scouts can’t be wrong. If he can grasp the NFL game, he’ll have a spot somewhere and he seems like the kind of guy the Dolphins want in their organization.

Going by what I have read so far about him, you don't want to count a guy like this out.

You may be right...but I am wondering what in his game film and accomplishments leads you to such an absolute judgement so quickly?

Is it that he was undrafted?....Pat Devlin was undrafted as well....and in a thinner draft than this one.

THANK YOU CK for saving me all the typing as i was going to take task with the week arm garbage. most people who say that wouldnt know what a WEEK arm is.

when you ask people who give the week arm comment what exactly a WEEK arm is, you usually dont get anything back. and if you do its in general like he isnt as strong this qb or that qb and besides, EVERYONE knows its true reply.

and his scrambling ability is on the elway/young level. if ANYONE gives brock jensen the a real look, gives him any real time in practice and pre season games, as one poster put it, he may never come out!

he just has that IT factor.

I have to admit, NRA you got me. I have no idea what a "WEEK arm" is. I googled it but they didn't have any really good definitions either. So before you tell us what one really is I'm gonna give it a guess. I'm gonna say that a "week arm" is the arm of an older QB who gets too sore to throw if he practices through the week, so he only gets to throw on Sundays, hence "WEEK arm".

Did I get it right??

People are misconstruing things.

There's nothing wrong with believing Brock Jensen won't amount to much. There are few easier ways to end up right than to take some kind of non-specific stance against a UDFA quarterback. You're virtually guaranteed to be able to say at some point that you were right all along and the guy was just a waste of time because the only way you can for sure be wrong with a non-specific stance against him would be if he turns out to be a multiple pro bowler or something along those lines.

But there is something wrong with touting incorrect details to bolster your case. There's a difference between saying that GDP growth will probably be lackluster this year and saying that GDP growth will probably be lackluster this year because we've failed to pass a comprehensive nationwide defense of marriage act. The first is a duh statement that most will agree with and the second will have people who actually know anything looking at you like you've got two heads.

Saying Brock Jensen won't make it because he has an objectively verifiable weak arm is just an incorrect detail. If someone corrects you, you don't get proven right so long as he doesn't go to pro bowls and/or win a super bowl. You don't get proven right even if he gets cut in camp. You get proven right if you can come up with objectively agreeable evidence that he does in fact have a weak arm.

Or he could "redefine" the qb position. As you put it a few years ago concerning a certain 2nd round pick.

Jensen has at least as good as arm as Devlin -- and a slightly better arm than Devlin, imo.

And, he apparently has some intangibles that Devlin doesn't. If Miami carries three QBs on the roster again, Jensen has a shot to unseat Devlin (not counting the fact that Philbin hearts Devlin for some reason).

Dude, everyone knows what a WEEK ARM is. The QB throws a medium range pass and it seems to take a week to get there. Time seems to stand still as the ball moves thru the air like a cast member of Grumpy Old Men, lol.

Ed Reed said as much when he played the Penny led Phins.

I don't recall anyone on here saying Jenson would beat our Tannehill or even Moore just that he MIGHT be able to challenge Devlin for the third spot.
That's realist since Delvin's contract is up need season and he's still stuck at number 3.
