brohm and some draft talk

Smith is the great wildcard. Can he overcome his shortcomings, no pun intended? If he can, he'll be great value in the 2nd or late first but I would be surprised if he goes top 15 due to his short stature

not making any comparisons, but, Vick and Brees are less than, or just barely, 6' tall.

Absolutely, there are exceptions and that is why he might go in the first. Still there is a reason why 6 foot makes it difficult to succeed and until he lines up you never know whether he can overcome it. I would be happy getting him with our 2nd but would be upset if we used our first due to the risk of the gamble

Considering the fact that pretty much all of the playoff team QB's this year are cerebral QB's, might as well go with the flow. That means guys like Brady Quinn, Brian Brohm over guys like JaMarcus Russell or Chris Leak.

Add the fact that SuperBowls are won by the cerebral types and I agree

i kno whwo they are and i dindt mention them b/c adams will be a top 5 pick or so and moses has had a bad sr year but i wouldnt mind him honestly as kiwanka (SP) had a bad SR yr but was rated the top DE at first and now he is playing very good football for NYG. and i am not sold on branch. he isnt big enough for the 3-4 from what i hear and he showed no effort or anything in the bowl game. i can pass i rather have WRIGHT.

Don't you guys think we have more pressing needs on the offensive line for example, or Quarterback or Receiver to address with our first round pick? Isn't like the defensive line the strength of our team and don't we have some young guys up and coming on it? When's the last time we spent a first round pick on a QB? What, 1983? Aren't there three good QB's coming out this year in Troy Williams, Jemarcus Russel, and Brady Quinn? Shouldn't we maybe consider drafting one of those guys, or a Left Tackle, or even Blaylock that dominant guard even with the 9th overall pick?

I guess all I'm saying is I'm sick of defense, that's been the focus for the past 10 years, it hasn't gotten us anything, and I'm tired of watching inept offense, it'd be nice to invest on that side of the ball for a change. I mean it seems pretty straight forward to me, our defense is in the top 5, Offense is in the bottom three, what do you think we need to invest the most in first?

And I'm tired of hearing "We're going to pick the best player available" that hasn't worked either. I'd rather hear "With our first three picks we picked the best offensive players available" we can inject some more youth in the defense next year our defense will be just fine...

Brian Brohm is the only player I would be upset if we passed on. Other than him i think we can draft every position other than punter and running back and it will fill a need. We'' know better after free agency is over what our needs are

we have roth, rod wrigth, evans, vickerson...maybe not marquee players, but, we have some depth on the DL. you try to resign holliday, you still have bowens, you still have jt.

we need to focus on the offensive side of the ball...for the next couple of drafts.

couple of drafts? i think not. More like use FA and the draft to address BOTH SIDES so we dont get lobsided like we have been for 10 yrs now.

my point is that one draft won't do it....we'll need 2, plus the FA help you suggest, although FA hasn't given us any offensive stars so far.

and when i say focus, i don't mean the entire draft, just the top 2-3 picks.

I think if any of those top 3 QB's(Quinn, Russell, or Brohm) are available at 9 they got to be are pick. As for O-lineman I dont there is someone there worth the 9th pick same with cornerback other than reaches. I believe either WR, S, or D-line might be the best available at 9.

yup

Brohm isnt bad...Streaky.And has plenty of arm for the NFL

Johnson is a STUD.

Hes never been streaky. He tore ligaments in his thumb and came back 2 games early so he would be ready for the Louisville West Virgina game. So he had a few games where he had to grip the ball different but quickly got back on track. Hes never been streaky unless you mean win streak.

Brohm is going to be a great QB in the NFL. We cant pass on him if he declares and falls to us.. Besides that, we better not draft a Safety again. We need a shutdown corner- the guy from pittsburg - Revis could fill that role, plus he can be our return specialist. We also need olinemen- or really just an offensive tackle and we'd be ok. As for WR, if C. Johnson and D. Jarrett dont fall to us, I think we can pick up a WR in the later rounds. This draft we have 6 picks.. We should pick up an OLB, OT, WR, CB, DT, and DE... maybe QB

If I were to rank the QB's as of now:

1. Brohm
2. Quinn
3. Russell
4. Smith
5. Kolb

Brohm in my view, is the best NFL prospect. He's got what your looking for: size, quick release, smart, an above average arm and toughness. He played with an injured thumb. If he declares and I'm doubting that he will, if available at 9 the Dolphins would be crazy to pass.

1. Brohm
2. Quinn
3. Russell
4. Smith
5. Kolb

How bout...
1. Brohm
2. Russell (his physical size outdoes Quinn)
3. Brennan- amazingly accurate, powerful arm, shows poise, mobile
4. Quinn-He showed in the Sugar Bowl he cant contend against above average defenses. He might be overrated just as ND was wayyy overrated. However, he may have huge potential if he has patience and learns under a good coach
5. Smith- If he wasnt under 6 ft tall, he could be higher.
I dont think Kolb is all that great, played in a passing offense ( i know similar style to Brennan) but I dont think he'll make it in the NFL
