Hey guys, Bronco fan here, thought I'd give you guys a little scouting report of our team.
Offense:
Offense-wise, we're getting a lot of guys back from injury that have had a significant impact on the offense: it was simple, when we were missing one or more of these guys, our offense sputtered. If you look at our early games where we had Scheffler, Royal, Stokley and Marshall on the field, we were dang near unstoppable. Without guys like Royal, Schef, etc, teams were able to double up on Marshall and he (as well as the offense as a whole) wasn't nearly as effective. But now that everyone is starting to become healthy again, I honestly don't know if you guys can stop us, especially after reading that you struggle against big physical receivers. I think this may turn out to be an old-fashioned shootout.
If you double Marshall, Stokley and Royal will dismantle you in the middle of the field. Scheffler is one of the fastest TE's in the league, if you don't pay attention he'll burn you deep. If all our guys are 100%, you'll have a very difficult time covering everybody, we just have too many weapons. Pittman is a tough runner who should've gotten the starting nod a long time ago, look for him in 2nd and 3rd and short situations.
The best chance you have at stifiling the offense is rattling Cutler and forcing turnovers. Turnovers have ABSOLUTELY KILLED US this season. We have one of the best pass protecting lines in the league, so the matchup of Porter and co vs. our line should be interesting. Cutler also tends to lock on to Marshall a little too much, if you have a DB who's good at jumping routes they may have a pick in line. We also have a propensity to cough up the football, but I'm sure Shanahan has focused hard on this over the bye.
Defense:
On the side of Defense, I honestly believe that we are one of, if not the worst defensive units in the league. Our run D is pretty bad and Ronnie and Ricky should have a field day. The bad pass defense was mostly the product of the D-line not getting pressure on the QB rather than our CBs. Dumervile of course is the guy you want to look out for on the D-line, but Moss has also been showing up as of late. You guys shouldn't have much trouble pass-protecting Pennington.
As you all know Champ Bailey is out, I believe Bly will be covering Ginn and Paymah will be covering your #2 (Camarillo)? Bly gets a lot of hate on Broncos boards but IMO he's been pretty good; I think he's capable of holding Ginn in check. Karl Paymah on the other hand has been awful, he's often oblivious to the location of the ball and always seems in a bad position. You'll definitely want to pick on him in the passing game. Our LB corps is fast, but the loss of Boss Bailey will hurt a lot. Stay away from #55 DJ Williams, he's our best tackler and the best defender outside of Champ. MLB Webster has been serviceable, not great but not bad. Look for Webster to lose his helmet at some point as he has been averaging at least one per game.
Our safeties are absolutely TERRIBLE, Manuel is slow and has bad instincts, and Lowry, who was promoted last week, is probably worse at tackling than a man with no arms. Neither would be a starter on most NFL clubs. I already have an image in my head of Ronnie trucking Lowry on the way to the endzone, ugh :shakeno:
Well there you have it, I think it's going to be a good game where the outcome will be tough to predict. I think your best bet is forcing us to turn the ball over multiple times. Here's what I wrote on another board before the MNF Pats game, and I was pretty spot on:
Hope you guys enjoyed the read and good luck on Sunday!

Morale was deflated after the two Andre Hall fumbles, and the team seemed to give up shortly after. If you guys can do that and get up by 14 or so early you have a very good chance.I like our chances unless we shoot ourselves in the foot again. In our two losses we've turned the ball over at least three times in each game. If this happens again we will go down hard.
Hope you guys enjoyed the read and good luck on Sunday!
