Broncos = Overrated Garbage

he threw 3 TDs and 7 INTs that SB run, he had one great half, his teammates did the rest. he had an incredible fortunate path to the SB that year, everything broke perfectly for him. It doesn't change that he has been a choker the rest of his career.

Doesn't matter. Still won a Super Bowl.

Never go to the Library without your shotgun.

Fins1971:

No, completely wrong.
A. The Jets have not been a ****ty team until recently. Even when they've gone into their slump, they still had one of the best defenses in the league, which is what Brady had to play against. Sure, the Dolphins and the Bills haven't been great, but let's not pretend the Patriots haven't been handling a top tier defense in the Jets this whole time.

B. The difference is, Tom Brady continued to win in the post season where he faces real football teams. Manning put up great numbers only up until the post season where he then got squashed.
As has already been pointed out, everything broke perfectly for Peyton his Superbowl year and he still played like crap through out those play offs, with 7 interceptions and only 2 touchdowns. He got carried.

C. Are your AFC South win/loss stats from the last ten years or going back in time from Peyton's last season with the Colts? Because if you took the last ten years starting from last season, your numbers are skewed because the Texans finally started to emerge as a contender and Manning wasn't even there.

D. Peyton did what he did in a dome. Brady has done what he's done in the freezing rain, winter winds, snow storms, -10 degree blizzards of Gillette stadium.

A) The Jets are a ****ty team as evidenced from their losing record over the last 10 years, 1 or 2 good years doesn't change that.
B) Brady has't continued to win. His record over the last 8 years in playoffs is 7-7 (mediocre)
C) The win-loss is of the AFC East from 2003-present and the AFC South from 2002-2011, accounting for Peytons move.
D) Nowhere in my posts have I tried to say Manning was better so I'm not sure what the stadium conditions have to do with the conversation.

Just wanted to point out that the Patriots have played in a weak division that they have dominated and that they have choked in the playoffs almost as much as the Colts/Denver with Peyton Manning. Just seems kind of rediculous that would be your argument when your own team has the same issues.

playoff apps 2002-2012:

Ind 10
NE 9
Pit 7
Bal 5
NYJ 9
SD 5
Den 5
SD 5

Tied for 4th in the AFC in playoff apps is really s****y

The crappy teams have been Miami and Buffalo who have combined for ONE playoff app and ZERO playoff wins since 2002- mark sanchez has 2 playoff apps and 4 playoff wins.

still playing the Sanchez is great card? smh

I have never played that card, never called him great, never said he would be great. What would be great would be if posters actually read my posts instead of interpreting what they think I am writing.

Don't know where you are getting 9, The Jets only made the playoff 4 times in the last 10 years. That is slightly above ****ty.
I assume you mean 9 games which was inflated with 2 good years in which they played 6 playoff games.
For the rest of the decade they went 1-2 in playoff games.
And even in one of those years that they played in 3 playoff games they were a crappy team with barely a winning record.
They just happened to get lucky by backing into playoffs with lucky draw on opponents and then got hot when the playoffs started.

2002-2012

we made it in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010. That's 5

we have been one of the better AFC teams in the last 15 years or so.

we were 4-2 the last 2 postseasons and 2-3 the 3 previous which is still 2 more PO wins than Miami had during the same span.

My criteria was 10 years, 2002-2012 is 11 years, nice use of stats there.

And your other numbers are totally innaccurate.

The Patriots have played in 21 Playoff games in the last 10 years and are 14-7
The Steelers have played in 14 Playoff games and are 10-4
The Colts have played in 17 Playoff games and are 9-8

If you were one of the better team then why do they have a losing record over that span?

oh so we take away 2001 and 2002 where they made the playoffs. why not just do it since the turn of the Century? b/c it makes your #s look worse.

how are my #s inaccurate? I stated playoff apps not games or records.

NE made it:

2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012- 9 times.

I was wrong about the Jets playoff record 2000-2008, they were 2-4 not 2-3. 0-1 in '01, 1-1 in '02, 1-2 in '04, 0-1 in '06

dolphin fans are always wrapped up in meaningless reg season wins. last year was the first losing season we have had where we didn't lose our QB to injury since 1996.

4th in playoff apps tells us we were one of the best in the AFC.

AFC Playoff stats for last 10 years 2003-2012

Patriots 14-7
Steelers 10-4
Ravens 9-6
Colts 9-8
Jets 5-4
Chargers 3-5
Texans 2-2
Denver 2-5
Jaguars 1-3
Titans 1-3
Bengals 0-4
Chiefs 0-3
Miami 0-1
Oak, Cleveland and Buffalo have not appeared.

So yes they Jets have the 5th best playoff record in last 10 years and maybe they aren't as ****ty as I made them out to be.

But the argument started out with the point being made the the AFC south was inferior.

If you look, not only do they have a better winning percentage than the AFC east for regular season games.
But they also have played more playoff games in that period

Jets, Miami, Buffalo are 5-5

Texans, Titans, Jags are a combined 4-8 and have played in 2 more playoff games.

So the jets are better than any of the 2nd tier teams in the South but the combination of the 3 teams shows the south slightly better.

And that was what my whole point was.

5th in wins(were 4th until Bal's run last year) among 16 teams. That's pretty good, right? and that's taking away our 2001 and 2002 playoff apps.

The Texans never made the playoffs until the last 2 years- peyton didn't play in either year so remove their 4 playoff games and they have less, right?

2002 the NFL realigned.

AFC East opponents records removing Brady games 2002-2007, 2009-2012

NYJ: 73-67, 5 playoff apps, 2 title game apps, 6-6 record
Buf: 62-78, zero playoff apps
Mia: 61-79, zero playoff apps

combined: 196-224, 47%, 5 playoff apps, 2 title game apps, 6-6 playoff record, 50%

AFC South opponents records removing Manning games 2002-2010

Ten: 72-56, 4 playoff apps, 2-4 record
Jax: 66-60, 2 playoff apps, 1-2 record
Hou: 53-73, zero playoff apps

combined: 191-189, 50%, 6 playoff apps, zero title games, 3-6 record, 33%

they have edge in reg season(thanks to Buf and Mia dragging us down), the Jets alone have more playoff wins and a better playoff win %

It's close.

Hey Junc...is Geno Smith really going to start for your team???? :3w:
