Broncos/ Thomas Rumored in trade

I have been hearing this lately. Where theres smoke theres usually fire. This rumor is not going away, so something might be in the works. Also, been hearing Randy Mueller is enamoured with Patrick Willis. Im starting to think that Patrick Willis is gonna be our first pick in the draft.

Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports there has been speculation that the Denver Broncos will trade for Miami Dolphins LB Zach Thomas.

God, I'm already worked up about Matt Birk now renewing a contract with the Vikes, but if the Fins trade Zach, I'll be like Mt. Saint Helens.

I do not see this happening. Zach Thomas simply has no value. Not because of his play, but because he is too damn good! No team will give high a pick for him. Zach stays in Miami...

Best linebacker core in the NFL. :allhail:

:hmmm: That doesn't make any sense.

What I mean is that Zach is too valuable to our team to even consider trading him. No team will sacrifice a 1st or 2nd rounder for him :tsk:. Just clearing up your doubt. We do have a tremendous LB core this year. TOP 5 Defense my prediction.

It would make sense because the Broncos are shopping Al Wilson and they probably want a guy who is a season veteran to help them in the middle. Jim Bates also runs their defense which is a scheme he played most of his career. On top of all that Randy Mueller is apprently anamored by Patrick Willis who despite his size can play the thumper in the middle of a 3-4.

IF this does happen, then why did we sign Joey Porter? Too me he was brought in to be right there with Thomas and Taylor. He's right around their age range and should be here just a little longer than they will be. I think the trade would conflict with the Porter signing.

Joey Porter was brought in to rush the passer. If we are indeed going to be playing the 3-4 more he fits the scheme perfectly. Dom Capers also ran the same zone blitz scheme that he and other linebackers have thrived in.

I know that. What I'm saying is why to you sign Joey Porter, who's in the same age range as Zach, and then trade Zach (presumably to get younger and "rebuild")?
