The Raiders’ first choice to solve their quarterback problem appears to be Carson Palmer. If Bengals owner Mike Brown doesn’t budge on his stance to keep Palmer, Oakland has options. Free agent David Garrard is a possibility. They could just re-sign Trent Edwards for depth and go with Kyle Boller. Or they could see what the Broncos want for Kyle Orton. Denver would be open to the move, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

I predicted that John Beck would have a better year than Kyle Orton, and I still think that it will come to pass. Orton looking better than Tebow passing the football in training camp was considered more important than it really was. Elway/the Broncos' FO screwed the pooch form the beginning on this one, now they'll be lucky if they can dump the marginal, salary bloated Orton on the Raiders. maybe Orton can not talk to Kyle Boller for the remainder of the year. Elway is hugely suspect as a GM (or excecutive VP, whatever) imo.
