Can anyone imagine Wanny drafting three rookies who would not only be starters, but successful starters as well?

uh...no

Never.

Its not only about the drafting, its the whole process of putting them in the right system, coaching them up, and constantly placing them in position to make a successful play. Every1 makes such a big deal of the actual drafting part of it, but drafting only suggests a "1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round pedigree" etc... that is why we get steals in the late rounds of the draft, its not so much that the guys get overlooked (sometimes they do), they are just put in a system that suits their talents best imo... Saban has done a great job all around in his selections, and that which I have briefly described above~

Well, I'd think that's kinda what he meant. You have to assume a coach/GM
team or single entity is going to draft players according to the system. they
will be used in.

Lol...with Saban, of course we can assume that. With Wanny...who knows?

The closest he came was with C Chambers, M Greenwood, T Minor and J Fletcher

I hope your not comparing them to our class from this year.

That was probably Wanny's best draft and what did we get?

A "decent" reciever (I know...he's having a very good year and looks like he is finally living up to his massive potential) but the rest of that class was weak.

Greenwood has STILL yet to make a play.

Minor is a good special teamer and nothing more then that and Fletcher could be one of the worst draft picks in team history considering what the team needs were at the time and who was available when we picked the stiff.

Who in the HELL takes a corner in the first round, a guy who was always better equipped to play zone, when you have TWO ALL PRO corners and you play man coverage 95% of the time.

And people wonder why Wanny is considered such a stooge.

Add Yeremiah Bell to that list as well...

He was in control of four drafts and got four starters...makes me hate the man even more.

Saban drafted 3 starters in ONE draft and Roth, Wright are contributing regualarly now. Thrown in Alabi (who they are high on) and Vickerson who would be playing in the D-line rotation if he did'nt get cut blocked.

Nick did more in 1 draft then Idtiotstedt did in four...shocking really.
