Just said on NFL Countdown that Miami and Cleveland were in active talks about trading Ronnie Brown for Braylon Edwards before the draft. That would have been a BAAAAD trade. Glad that didn't happen but does this give a little insight about the Trifecta might not try and re-sign him if they were in talks about moving him?

I don't think they're as high on Ronnie as the fans are.

But we don't know what the deal might have been - maybe it was Edwards + significant picks for Ronnie in a deal that the FO wouldn't have passed up.

Yes, and in 1963 we almost went to the ultimate war, but cooler heads prevailed... Do you really believe that dribble. They may have talked but RB for that POS.

We'd totally suck now without the R&R express. Sparano, Parcells, and Ireland need a serious *** whooping for even considering that.

I watched it also....
But I don't buy it...
I think Cleve called US... Thats it...

No way we would have done that trade...

I think this was explored when he was recovering from his knee injury wasn't it?
no,this was in the off-season of 09(Browns first PB year)....if ever there were a definition of a 'lopp-sided deal'.....

Adam S. is just trying to stir up a BS story for tonights game. He is probably a jests fan. There was probably a call from the Browns to the Fins to guage interest. The Trifecta will always listen.

It didn't happen so there is no need to worry about it. Every team discusses dozens of trades before the draft. If they had made us a stupid offer like Edwards and thier whole draft for Brown we would have been stupid not to take it. They didn't offer enough so its water under the bridge.

This rumor was started before the draft by Michael Lombardi.

For those who might remember, Jeff Ireland addressed this very topic on draft day and put the rumors to bed.

(On if the Ronnie Brown trade rumors can be put to bed) - "We can put them to bed. It's funny, before the draft, you have a lot of people calling you, a lot of people calling you, and somehow those things take on a life of their own. I'll give you an example: someone calls me and says 'any players available by trade?,' and I say 'yeah, they are all available for a price." Someone might have said 'does that include Ronnie?,' and I said 'like I said, they are all available.' I don't know if someone took that and ran with it, but we are not looking to trade Ronnie Brown - you can write that."

Seems to me that ESPN is trying to stir up a story that was put to death back in April. Remember how Mort said before the start of the 2008 season that Ronnie was going to be traded before the season started? Two seasons later, he is still here.
