Ok, most of us just watched the Fins beat the Panthers. Ronnie Brown had a pretty decent day...the kind of day we all expect him to have....

Now, my question is...was his success due to the OL opening holes or just his talent and finally being comfortable with the O ??

My personal thoughts are that it was less of the OL, although they were better in the run game than the last two weeks, but Browns talent surely showed thru today...

Your thoughts ???

It was him getting better. The line was no better this week, and it's easy to see that because we can use Morris as the constant. He did as well as he normally does, yet Ronnie did much much better. that tells me that Ronnie made the improvment... not the O-Line. From now on i expect we will see the running back we expected to have when we drafted him.

Also, just as an add on... If this is what we will be getting from Brown, i'm glad we have him over Caddy simply because he has the extras. Caddy may prove to be the better pure runner, but Ronnie is more rounded.

Remember Ronnie missed a LOT of training camp and getting used to the NFL speed and Defenses, it'll take him some time but he really came through w/ a big big play, and i have to give the OL credit for protecting Gus and they did open up that lane for Ronnie on that breakout run

The Oline isn't doing anything for him. They were a little better today than they have been, Ronnie could actually get to the LOS before getting hit.

I think it was him. Why? Because SM was running behind the same line and getting better production that RB early on. But then RB broke the long one and you could just see a difference in his running style...looked like he got "his groove" and looked comfortable carrying the ball for the first time. After that run he was making positive yards on each carry, shook a tackler out of his jock to pick up 9 yards, and made some nifty moves to turn in a great reception in the flats that gave us a key first down. So I think the struggles we saw from RB in the first two games was, IMO, more a product of his self than the line.

Ronnie had a "pretty decent" day? 132 yards is "pretty decent"?

I'm going to say it was both, Ronnie did a great job of hitting the hole and just going. The O-Line did a good job of opening a hole even if it was for just a second. Combine the 2 and you have a pretty good running game. I dont understand the reason for shuffleing the Tackle position. Unless they are just using that to keep the players fresh?

Both improved today, but I wanna know why Ronnie ran OB?? I was looking for him to lower the shoulder and deliver a blow to the small DB's.

If you paid close attention, you can see him reach down at his hammy right at the end...probably felt it start to cramp up and didn't want to push it. But he came right back and played very well.
