Browns | Frye feels quarterback job is his to lose
Sat, 10 Feb 2007 07:51:29 -0800
Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns QB Charlie Frye says he believes the starting quarterback job is his to lose despite the performance of QB Derek Anderson late in the season. "(Anderson's performance) doesn't change anything," Frye said. "I think it just shows that if something did happen to me again, we have a guy that can make plays. Derek took advantage of his opportunities."

Hopefully this means they wont be drafting Quinn. I still think they try to sign a FA QB if he becomes avalaible.... Remember Garcia, Schaub, Plummer, Rattay, Leftwich are all looking to become available. So we will see...

Seems alot of decent Qbs will be there for teams to pick up via free agency. Hopefully the teams drafting ahead of the fins will pick some of these up and have a good QB there for the taking at 9 (Quinn)

That is a good tid-bit of information. I hope that is the case because after Cleveland we will be next team that is in need of a quarterback. Also, in most drafts there is one quarterback that is taken early then a bit of a "lag" before the next one is taken. I think Cam could work wonders with this Kid!

That would mean more if it came from Phil Savage's mouth instead of Charlie Fryes. Last time I checked, Frye isn't in charge of personnel moves, and played pretty horribly last season. This does nothing to change the odds that the Browns draft a QB in the first.

i honestly dont see cleveland drafting a QB. at least not in the first round. on their roster, they have 4 QBs. the most experienced of them has been in the nfl for 4 years. they are all still very young. i dont see why they would waste their first pick on another inexperienced QB. their best bet would to pick one up in FA to teach frye or anderson

they could also give troy smith his wish and draft him in the 4th round....just stay away from quinn :D

Well if you give the browns a decent ruuning attack it would allow Frye to develope at a slower rate, by then he could become something special

I think it would be dumb for the Browns to draft Quinn, They havent rally gave Frye a chance, I thought Charlie Frye was actually pretty good.

It all depends on how much trust the owner has in Crennel! Because if he is in the hot spot I can see them grabbing a veteran and making Frye learn under him for a season or 2 well they try to make a run for the playoffs if they can fill in other wholes!
