Browns - Josh Gordon Suspended 1 Year

Now when Johnny Football runs around like a chicken with his head cut off and throws it up who's going to catch it? That's what he did at TAMU and he had Mike Evans to bail him out.

One more bust from Gordon and he's out of the NFL for good.
 
I understand the hypocrisy of NFLs suspension policy, and the league probably shouldn't dole out suspensions for something that maybe half the country does. But it does speak to someone's character when he can't resist the urge to smoke weed when millions of dollars are on the line and you know you're going to be tested. And, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that players know approximately WHEN they're going to be tested, so they only have to stay away from weed for part of the year.
 
While he did deserve to be punished , I feel like all this time off from the game is not a good punishment for guys like Gordon. Just leads to more problems, imo. They should still make him attend all team functions, regardless if he plays or not. Or maybe play for another league. Hows the saying go? Idle hands is the devil's playground.
 
On the one hand, it's a crummy situation.

On the other hand, Josh Gordon is a ****ing retard. The fact that he had a hearing for a one year suspension coming up and he got caught in a DUI is probably the single dumbest decision he could have made. Other than like, robbing a bank.

He should have just knocked his girlfriend unconscious and only received 2 games or could have just paid off a POS pharmacist for pills and had $29,000 in cash on him at the time of his DUI and gotten off clean. And please, spare me your CBA explanations; I'm fully aware of it's interpretation on Gordon's issues. Point is, Rice's lackadaisical suspension and the severe lack of focus on Irsay's violations have been heinously handled by the fraud, Roger Gotohell. What a joke.

I tend to agree with you, but if alcohol were a banned substance, how much would you squirm trying to make it through a fifteen year NFL career without ever drinking a beer?
