Now I must admit that BEREA, Ohio -- Eyes fixed ahead, Browns linebacker Matt Roth, full of tattoos and controlled aggression, stomped across the carpet in Cleveland's locker room looking as if he was ready to start a fight.

Not in here. Roth saves his brawling for the field.

As he walks by, everyone gets out of Roth's way.

"I'm scared of him," joked Pro Bowl tackle Joe Thomas, "and he's one of my friends."

Roth is the Browns' resident tough guy, whose mission on the field is to hit anything in front of him. In last week's win over Cincinnati, Roth matched a career high with two sacks, the last coming when he relentlessly chased down Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer.

Needless to say, the 6-foot-4, 275-pound Roth, claimed by the Browns last November year after four-plus seasons in Miami, is a bit of a character. Some of his teammates think he's funny. Others think he's a little crazy. There's no debating that he's a physical force.I know zero about them having never done one before.

For me, that one's right up there with Pat White, Gabril, Eric Green and waiving Ness (who had 7 claims for him) a day before placing a reluctant Will Allen on IR.

Wow, and I thought he was still on a stationary bike on our sideline

The grass is always greener for some Dolphin fans.

If Henne were to be traded right now, and then lit it up on another team the same people calling for his tade/release/benching etc now would be mad at the FO for letting him go. LOL!

It's funny... I can remember the board masses calling for Roth's release quite regularly round these parts when he was here.

not me. i wanted to keep Roth. but i've wanted to keep jason allen too so my evaluations could be slipping a little.

I liked Roth a lot being honest. I thought it was an odd move to let him move on but, I am sure there was a reason for it. I mean if I know more about football than Parcells and Sparano, why am I sitting at my PC typing this and not coaching in the NFL, lol.

That's a move I don't understand. Why did we get rid of him, but keep Akin Adyele?
BTW Ness is going to be a good player in this league.

I personally think Matt Roth grew sick to his stomach once JAson Taylor was brought back after his trade to Washington. Matt was looking for the opportunity to set his foot on the defense, then Ireland brought back the future Miami "Ring of Honor" player. Roth was growing to be 27 at the time I think and he wanted to go somewhere where he could play now (at the moment) and be aloud to make an impact.

there was no reason for us to let him go. They did not want to pay him.... He is a beast but i guesss his attitude did not work here....

He was let go because he lied to the staff or hid something or something along those lines. What exactly it was, we'll never know...but don't forget there were some very mysterious circumstances that led him to fall out of favor with the FO. It certainly wasn't because they thought he's not a good player.

WHAT,NO LOVE FOR
Ernest Wilford
Pat Turner

Roth should still be our SLB. Also, we could have used the Misi pick on an athletic TE.
