Browns sign RB Jamal Lewis!!

and the FA RB list continues to dwindle....so does Droughns now become the FB and does Cleveland still draft Peterson or go after Quinn now that the RB position has been upgraded?

Yeah I agree with you, Peterson is without a doubt a franchise back and Lewis is of course on the downslide...My point is however, will the Browns decide that a Droughns/Lewis backfield will suffice atleast for a season and go after another glaring need in a franchise QB, in this case being Quinn, and address the RB issue next season whether through FA or the draft depending who is available. :hmmm:

Huge draft shake up.

Where does AP end up?

Looks like Quinn goes to Browns unless they really want CJ.

Yeah seriously, granted having those options is the direct result of having a losing season, but having all of those future franchise players sitting there at your turn has to have the organization's and fans' mouths watering with anticipation.

hmmm Quinn, Thomas, Peterson, Johnson...which to choose  (this of course also depends on who the Lions choose at #2, and taking for granted the Raiders go Russell at #1)

Well, looks like it's official, and the Pack are showing interest...

Packers | Interest in Droughns?
Thu, 8 Mar 2007 16:26:22 -0800
Adam Schefter, of NFL Network, reports if the Cleveland Browns release RB Reuben Droughns, the Green Bay Packers could make a push to sign him.

And the Browns continue to prove they are one of

the most incompetent organizations in football. What is wrong with Phil Savage, the general manager? He's from the same tree as Scott Pioli and Ozzie Newsome, yet he continues to go out and sign free agent after free agent, spending good money after bad. 12 of their current starters were free agent acquisitions, and that doesn't even count the millions spent on LeCharles Bentley, and Gary Baxter, who were big-dollar signees who haven't played at all for the Browns because of injuries, nor does it include the bank busting deal given to Eric Steinbach. That's 15 free agents who are, or were supposed to be starters on this team. Now they add Jamal Lewis!

It's been eight years since the Browns rejoined the league and they're still put together like a first-year expansion team. They don't have a franchise quarterback, and they're talking about drafting Adrian Peterson with the 3rd overall pick? You can get players just as good in the third-round, why spend the money? The Browns aren't anywhere near contention, why draft a guy like Peterson at this point?
