Browns split on Quinn & Peterson?

Browns owner Randy Lerner is said to prefer Brady Quinn, who is from Ohio but could take a season or two to develop. Browns general manager Phil Savage and coach Romeo Crennel are said to prefer Adrian Peterson, who could have immediate impact.

This is the most recent rumor on the Cleveland Browns 3rd round pick. All we can hope is that it is Adrian Peterson and not Brady Quinn.

I think this may be old news as reports are not coming out that Cleveland will not choose Peterson due to his injury. Apparently, barring Russell dropping to #3, they will pick either Thomas or Quinn.

Why what? Why is he out? All I've heard is because of his injury history. Why Thomas or Quinn? Because that's what I've heard on local sports talk radio. Any other questions?

Im not sure even they know at this point, but the latest I've heard is Thomas. Who is clearly the safest pick of the 3.

I agree. Seems like a whole lot of smoke being blown about. Savage just claimed that Peterson's injury didn't effect the way they think about him, now he's supposedly out of the running because they think he's injury prone.

I'm sure Romeo Crennel has talked at length with Weiss about Quinn.....If the Brown's pass up on Quinn I'd be surprised. Weiss speaks so highly of him.....and Peterson is bit too much of an upright runner. I do see them leaning towards Quinn, having Jamal Lewis on a one year deal....they could get some quality running back in round two?
