If everyone really believes that building through the draft is the way to get things done, then the Cleveland Browns missed that memo.

They have traded away their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks now. It's great that they have Stallworth, Winslow, Lewis, Anderson, and Edwards on offense, but they had better sign some more players quickly if they can't draft anyone.

One of those picks was used on Brady Quinn, who at this point is looking like the odd man out.

I am really excited for the draft, and I'm glad that we have picks to use, unlike the Browns.

Well, the Brownies have done a good job on drafting young talent especially in the early rounds. Some of the their young starters include Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow, Joe Thomas, Kamerion Wimbley, D'Qwell Jackson, Sean Jones and Brodney Pool. That's seven young starters that they have drafted, so give them some credit.

The Browns also aren't rebuilding like we are. They have a solid team and only missed the playoffs by 1 game. The moves they made have probably made them a playoff team and if their offense plays as well as last year they will be good for awhile.

Acquiring Corey Williams, Shaun Rogers, and Donte Stallworth helps make up for the missing picks. I just wonder how they plan on replacing Leigh Bodden. It was a very stupid move trading him.

Eric Wright, UNLV. I dont know what pick though lol.

UNLV got credit since he ended up there but played most of his time at USC but transfered because he was accused of rape, nothing proven though

Yeah I dont understand moving him either. Baxter is unhealthy and is a FA. Right now I believe their starting corners would be Daven Holly and Eric Wright. Maybe Baxter is finally healthy and ready to go? I dont know, I was shocked when I saw them move Bodden.

None of those guys are near Bodden's level although Wright was a steal in last years draft. I still can't get over how they gave him and a 3rd for Rogers.
The Browns throw around draft picks like they mean nothing. They traded this years 1st for Quinn, last years 3rd, 4th, and 5th round selections to move up and get Wright, and now these current trades. Add in the fact that they'd rather overpay Derek Anderson than start the guy they gave a lot for while also missing out on a chance to acquire at least 1st and 3rd round selections. It's strange too considering the success they've had drafting the past few years.

the browns have been pretty awful as of late and have had alot of early draft picks and have built their team to what it is now with the draft, now they are young enough, with enough talented players to be able to afford trading away a years worth of picks, to pick up a solid free agent or two in order to put the "finishing touches" onto their team. even while it doesnt look like it this year, they have built their team through the draft, theyve just done a good enough job to be able to afford to loose a pick or two now. just my opinion though...

They have built through the draft the last few years. FA are just to put you over the top. you have to have a good mixture. there draft is gonna be boring while our is probably the most exciting.

I HATE when your favorite team's draft is boring as hell. It sucks so bad man. I remember when we got Jason Allen in the first round, I was so sad. Now I am not that sad because Jason has finally learned how to play but I still rather have others that were taken after him.
