Buehrle & Carpenter named All-Star starters!

They both deserve it although I think Clemens deseved it more for the NL. Clemens has just been outstanding this year. It's all about LaRussa in his case, imo. He does deserve it though. I think Halladay would have gotten the nod had he not gotten injured but Buehrle deserves it without a doubt.

It's too bad that Clemens isn't starting and Pavano isn't pitching in relief for the NL, they really helped the Sox with the whole home field advantage  .

Anyway I think either Clemens or Willis should have started for the NL in my opinion but since LaRussa is managing he gave the nod to his guy, I think it's a mistake. Obviously Halladay would have started for the AL. Hopefully Tito Francoma lets Mo Rivera and B.J. Ryan throw a few innings each. Can't let them keep those arms fresh for the strech run.

In Colon's last outing he got shelled by Seattle(7 runs in 2 innings):shakeno:.I think that about killed any chance he had at starting for the AL.

I hope we see Mo to Ray Finkle. It means the AL is sealing up home-field in the World Series!

I agree he's the best if the AL is winning then he gets the ball in the 9th no matter if the score is 1 to 0 or 50 to 0.

I still think Willis should have started but I guess when you manage your team to the World Series you earn the right to start your guy. As far as Buehrle starting, I haven no problems with that. He's been a main cog on the best team in baseball and if you look at the White Sox offensive numbers, you'll realize that pitching has been the number one reason why they are where they are at the break!

Well, Buehrle deserved it, especially with Halladay hurt. But this is another La Russa homer pick...third time in four chances he's had his guy start. Carpenter's got great numbers, but honestly, what non-Cards fan wants to watch Chris Carpenter? Willis has the same stats, and that's only because he had one bad game in his last before the break. At least if Clemens had started, it still would have been entertaining. But the casual fan says Chris Who?

The silver lining is that D-Train will at least get to pitch to Dukie if La Russa has any brain. That'll be cool for us Fish fans.

If everyone was there and healthy it would have been Roy "DOC" Halladay and Pedro.

Buherle and Carpenter should start with those two gone.

Good post

.. Clemens or D-train. Carpenter was a homer pick. I think we all new he would get picked because of LaRussa.
