I hate this talk about signing peppers, suggs, nnamdi Asam,D robinson TJ Houzzmzvvs, A haynsworth, B Scott and J Gross.

Look at the sides in playoffs, they all built through the draft.

I have faith in FO to build through draft and pick up smart FA which dont cost us the big time money.

Wld love first 4 of draft in any order to be LB, FS, DT and C/LB (dependant upon J.Brown).

FA i like are J Brown, J Greer, M Austin, B Carpenter and A. Crowell.

I think ppl forget we finished 11-5 with a time consuming offence without great play from O'Line (not inc Big Jake) and a REAL NO NAME DEFENCE bar J porter. we got holes in out team and we still finished 11-5. 2 more drafts and i think we cld be next steelers, baltimore or Giants.

Bit tired of this. This team will be built in the draft. When we're world champs, the nucleus of the team will be the likes of Thomas, Long, Carey (or replacement), Brown, Merling, Langford, Ron Brace ;-), Ginn, Bess. Arguably Henne. The linebackers will be given an overhaul this year. The DB will be drafted over the next two years and added to.

You NEED to supplement the squad with FAs. Even if you pick up 4 starters EVERY draft, it'd take six years to assemble the squad, by which time, some of the draftees would've jumped ship as FAs to supplement a Championship contender. See Adalius Thomas, Plaxico Burress et al.

If we don't want to pay Channing Crowder and Bart Scott signs for less or the same bucks, why would we not do that rather than spending a 1st or second on an unproven college player? Eddie Moore or Bart Scott?

We have already started to build this team through the draft. We'll continue to in '09. With some good, young FA pickups this year, 2010 can be used to finish the job.

Signing quality, proven players to bulster your roster and starters is a nevessity.

isnt this agreeing with what i said -

i said build through draft with smart FA pick ups..........all you stated differently is build through draft and supplement with FA.

Not far different but the tone is as if you are disagreeing with me!!!!!!!!

lets get a ol from fa/draft
lets get a cb from fa/draft
lets get a lb from fa/draft
lets get a s from fa/draft
lets get a wr from fa/draft
and lets get out there and kick some a##

to neglect either one, is well neglectful and won't lead you very far.

Those responses will get you alot of quality discussions, nothing like insulting everyone when you don't like their responses.

Ok. Just like the draft, free agency is a double edged sword. You can draft busts same as you can aquire busts in free agency. The difference is if we somehow get Terrel Suggs in free agency and he busts it is gonna be a lot more expensive than if he busts coming outta school. All norman is saying is lets get depth in free agency. Hell if there is someone worth a staters role and we cant find a suitable draft pick. Get em. Just like Fasano, Ayedele, Penny. So on and forth. But the draft is where we will get the Lombardi from. I know you guys know this so i dont see what the big deal is.
