DAVIE, Fla. -- Byron Maxwell's first season with the Miami Dolphins was eventful, with plenty of twists and turns. It began with learning a new defense. Then he overcame an early benching to eventually play solid football in the second half of the season.
So much was going on that Maxwell didn't have much time to mentor younger players in Miami's secondary. However, the seventh-year cornerback believes that will change this season.

That's cool Maxwell is taking Tank under his wing. He was at the Championship game last year and I'm sure they were already acquainted with one another. Byron gets a bad rap from a lot people, but if he's the Corner he was after his benching, then Tank will be learning from one of the better CBs in the league.

Howard must have been busy

Never said Byron was better. All I'm saying is they both played at Clemson. Maybe not together, but I'm sure they know each other.

Sure... tho to be honest I was commenting on the whole mentoring thing rather than your post

I'm always very sceptical of these comments vets make about helping out the rookies who are trying to take their jobs. Of course it happens, we saw a vid in the Twitter yesterday fo Suh giving Taylor pointers, but you can be sure some of these vets don't give a **** about training up the competition.

Yeah, but Suh is on another level as a player and has zero to worry about with anyone taking his position...
