Calais Campbell to the Arizona Cardinals

I would sign Brandon Scherff. He is the best IOL available and hasn't missed a game in the last 3 years. Yes he is 33 but he should have at least another good year or two left in him. I think Daniels can play either OG position since Scherff is a RG. That solidifies our IOL. I think Armstead is going to retire so its Paul and Jackson as the starting OT's. I would look to draft an OT in round 4. Somebody like Logan Brown or Ozzy Trapillo to be the backup swing OT. Maybe there will be a decent FA OT who we could sign as a backup.

Then we can prioritize DT and DB in rounds 1 and 2. Then there should be a good Safety available in round 3.

I don't like whats left on the FA DT and DB market which is why I want to draft one of each in the first 2 rounds.

I would ideally like to trade down from 13 and pick up an extra day 2 draft pick so we can try to fill more needs in the draft.
Can't argue with any of this.

A lot of overreacting in this thread. Still have a dline with Seiler, Chop, Chubb and Phillips. Also, have a really good draft for dline talent. Put piss in your own cheerios over a 40 year old DT if you want to.
No we don't. How many games do you got penciled in for Chubb and Phillips total. I would be shocked in the combine for a total of 17 games, so they are basically just one guy. Throw in Chubb shredded if frigging knee and hast played a down of football in over a year and he lacked elite explosiveness to start with. I predict more of the same as last year or worse good teams bitch slapping both our OL/DL around the field. The good us we got WRs who run 40 yards in 4.3 seconds, the bad our QB has less the 2 seconds before a 320 DT plants him as our IOL wiffs on another block.

Not sure why folks think going to Arizona is a downward move. Yes they're not good but still better than Miami. Didn't they come down here a couple months ago and beat Tua and the Fins?

In any event, if losing a 40 year old free agent DT that we had for one year is so catastrophic that just shows you where this team is at.
It isn't that the lost of a 40 you free agents is catastrophic by itself. It is just another poor move by Grier in a long line of poor decisions. Just a guy who has zero clue on how to build an actual roster. Keep saying Grier is loke a chess player who plays one move at a time, while real GMs are think 5-10 moves ahead all the time.

He is a big loss, on the field and in the locker room. I don’t get signing for another team with no hope of a SB but if he’s happy good luck to him.
From a Dolphins perspective it means we have to prioritise the OL, DL, DB, WR, LB. We may need a new definition of prioritise

not to mention chubb and phillips are edge

Maybe he wants to finish with Arizona. He played a good portion of his career there. Would've been nice to retire with your hometwon team tho.

Grier is done. 4 gapping holes and 2 good picks in the draft. Even if he hits on those 2 that still leaves 2 big needs. Good FA are basically gone. He is going to have to come up with a gameplan to get some better picks in the draft and get extremely lucky on those picks. Also he is going to have to be extremely lucky that the o-line starters stays healthy and Paul works out. Grier has really backed himself into a tight corner. I just can't see him being lucky enough to have so many things to fall in place to not only make the playoffs but win a playoff game. Bye Grier.
We actually only have 2 holes, DT and OG. We have 2 serviceable safeties and Cam Smith isn't the worst option at CB2 regardless of what the armchair GMs on finheaven think. Depth, however, is an issue for a few positions.

Really like the Scherff idea. Think that would be a fantastic addition and solidify the interior OL. I'm still praying TA comes back for one more kick at the can, even if we only get him for half the games. Think he would be a good presence for Paul. I suspect the team views Borom as the swing tackle. Agree we need a boundary CB and a starting DT, along with another S.

It would be good if Armstead returns for one more year since I am not sure Paul is ready to take over at LT.

I hope were not viewing Borom as a backup swing OT. He stunk at OT last year with the Bears. I would rather him be IOL depth.

I have seen the idea floated that maybe they want to transition him into G. But if Grier is banking on Borom being a starter on the interior, I'm very very worried.

Don't worry about the OLIne. Mr. Grier is not worried. Same guy who has built more than one stellar OLine in his time with Miami. All his teams (one) have had great OLines. This is why he is a great GM.
