Calais Campbell

DE and OLB are the least of our worries...we already have JT, JP, and QM at OLB with Holiday, Starks, Roth, and Wright at DE.

We need to focus on our "O" more than our "D". We took care of a lot of stuff on "D" via FA. right now, we can probably use a CB, yes, but other than that look for "O" to be more of the focal point, at least in the first day.

If Calais is there at 32, it would be crazy to pass on him. This guy hasn't even reached his full potential, and that's scary.

His stock is somewhere between the early 2nd and mid 3rd right now, believe it or not. I'm hoping the kid has a good career but a lot of experts are calling him a bust already. With that being said, I'd like him at 32 and would love him at 57.

yeah and imagine his size and frame across from Taylor and Poter and Crowder in the middle....man Calais would be a STEAL at 32....when considerations first started, they even were talks of him going as high as 7....now theres a chance we can get a top 10 player in the end on the first round,or the beginning of the second, however you look at it...

We have holes virtually everywhere, we need to focus on the bpa.

In any case, Campbell would be unlikely to be playing at any LB position so JT/JP/QM are out of this discussion. Campbell would likely be lining up oposite of Holiday. Starks/Roth/Wright are just depth....

C. Campbell will never be the next J. Taylor....he's too slow to be a 4-3 DE....but he's perfect to be a 3-4 DE.

Has anyone watched this guy play? He's easily the most overrated player I've witnessed in 40 years following the Canes. And I was posting that in '06.

No burst. Poor balance. Easily chopped. One gear. Horrid vs. the run, particularly to the outside, unless you prioritize someone who sails past the play with no clue where it went.

He can leverage to the inside against lesser tackles, and does a good job finding the QB's arm and seeing the ball if his rush is effective. At that point he'll make a play or two.

Primary value: thrusting his arms skyward throughout the game, encouraging bored and beaten fans.

Last September I posted on a few sites that I'd cry if my team drafted Calais Campbell in round one. As soon as we identify at #1, my only priority is some other team wiping Campbell off the board before we resume at #32.

I also think he's gone in the first, so I'd definitely use a 32 on him.

He could easily be the only 320 pound, not obese DE in the league if he starts to train hard. He hasn't gotten near the weight his frame can easily support.

He's enormous and looks like a gamer. First rounder.

...

a top ten talent? even a first ROUND talent?

Have you people watched the man play? He has poor movement, one weak move, and lacks any sort of movement. Ketwan Balmber is the guy you want for a 3-4 DE, not Calais Campbell
