Some of his misses have been brutal, but he's a rookie, he just needs to work on his accuracy. He has a leg for sure, I'm not worried.

i like sturgis. those two makes, were somewhat redemption for the miss, considering we hadn't scored a td at that point yet.

Lets be real. Who amongst us didnt think Sturgis was gold several games into the season. The kid was a stud at UF and up till a certain point in the season he was nailing everything.

Last few weeks he has been beyond dicey. He has a great leg and a great natural kicking motion, but you simply cant miss that many kicks and stay in the NFL long. Even established veteran kickers jobs would be up in the air after a performance like Sturgis has had over the last few weeks. Even if he makes every kick the rest of the season, Im not so sure he can be trusted going forward.

Other than salary no reason to make the change...Carp missed a couple heart breakers last year but this kid we have now has missed a few that were killers as well.

I hate Sturgis' helmet. Looks like a complete buffoon. Then when he misses kicks I think he's a bigger buffoon.

When I think of the Dolphins paying Mr. Insecure Raftfink Martin all his money, I'd rather have kept Carp, and simply put Martin on IR.

Sturgis hasn't done anything that has proven to me he's better than Carp. Sturgis is a middle of the road kicker.

Certainly doesn't instill any confidence when he lines up to make a kick. Not any more or less than Carp.

Sturgis hasn't been good, but based on Carpenter's performance last season coupled with his salary, we had to let him go.

He did save the bengals game to be fair last second, but he missed one earlier in game

Half the problem with Carp was his short kickoffs. Sturgis gives me no confidence these days, but at least his kickoffs are all generally deep. Definitely need to bring in competition this off season.
