Call me crazy, but I think we are overreacting to the Marshall trade

On its face value, it's a very one-sided trade that if anything takes away an incentive to attract a good QB or to give Moore more tools to succeed; no way we couldn't and shouldn't have done better than 2 friggin 3s!

However considering it's so gawdawful on the surface, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop which reveals this as a pawn in a master plan where we've actually upgraded: Maybe signing Vincent Jackson, bundling one of those 3s with our pick and Merling or whatever to move up to grab Blackmon, signing Peyton, Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne as a package deal..

However, if all we've ended up doing is offloading one of the premier receivers in the league for fools gold, then on its own merit this deal would rank right up there with the Dutch stealing the island of Manhattan for the equivalent of $24 of shiny baubles and trinkets. It took me a long time to get over passing up on Mallett 3X; if there's no "Part B" then this one would likely send me over to the darkside.

You think our office has a "master plan"? LOL.

I mean, I just kind of find it funny that we are all crying that we traded him, but when he was dropping 8 TD passes, everyone here was screaming for a trade

SO...what if thats the best deal people were offering? If this was in the works at the combine...maybe not too many people were willing to give up more for him

Then you keep him, and we are not stuck looking for a top 10 wr.

But do we NEED a top 10 receiver?

Ravens, Patriots, Giants, 49ers

Those were your final 4 this year. You could maybe make a case for Hakeem Nicks, but in my opinion, I don't see a top 10 WR there.

Why would he be happy during a regime and QB change? Even if he was unhappy he'd get over it. He wasn't a MUST trade. We traded our number 1, pro bowl receiver in his prime for a pair of 3rd rounders after we've paid him 35 million in 2 years and given up 2 2nd rounders for him. That's an absolute **** trade. There's no overreaction to that. I've never thought Marshall is untouchable, but to get such terrible value after the year he had? Just clownery.

Cruz and Nicks are both top 10 receivers. If we had the playmaking TE situation of the Patsies or SF it would be different. But we don't have anything near a VD or Gronk.

I think it's funnier that he suddenly sucks because he's no longer on the team. Don't get me wrong, I feel everybody is tradeable, for the right price. 2 3rd rounders in separate years is not even close to the right price.

WTF are we doing to our team?!? 2 third round picks for are best player on offense. Bess and the rest of are wrs are scrubs. Were in for a long season. If Manning doesn't like Marshall he can cry me a river! I'd take Marshall over a has been Manning any day. I'm Effin pissed! Are we rebuilding again lol.

Cruz is a top 10 receiver? Really? Or does he just appear to be better because he has Manning throwing to him, and Nicks on the other side, along with Manningham, and Ballard, and Bradshaw, and Jacobs.

My point is, I'd rather spend my money on a team full of "above average" players, than overpay for an "elite" player and have no money leftover for the rest of the holes

Wow! Okay.

Hey crazy man so if CHicago Did not get Marshall they would probably spend their first round pick on a Wide Receiver right???? Now they get Marshall and get to keep their first round pick us on the other hand now have a glorious hole at the WR position and need to spend a 1 round pick on a WR when we already had an amazing one. Thats pathetic.

If we would have hung Brandon Marshall out the window for trade we would have defiantly got more for him. He would have been the best WR on the trading block/free agency available this year. Media outlets from every team that needed a stud WR would have been all over it. San Fran prolly would have given us a 1st & 3rd. Oakland would have traded for picks so they can use those picks to get Marshall.

Only thing I can think that makes slight sense is that this was for Manning & to free up any cap room they can to get Wayne & co. But I also feel that's a **** move due to Wayne & Co being older & a good chance less productive. Manning was throwing alot of pics in his last season before he got injured. Now at age 36 with 2 recent neck surgurys I think it's a huge gamble. If he has 2 good years now that would be lucky. It;s not common 38-40 year old QB's play well after an injury. Marino didn't.

brandon marshall didnt sell tickets so now the people who didnt buy tickets are complaining and saying they will stay away. thats funny.

Nine TDs in two seasons?!?! That's a down season for the God some of you are making Marshall out to be. If he were elite, he would have more TDs and less drops in the endzone. I think he cared once this season...the Pro Bowl.
