How many of you really thought Miami would go to the playoffs? Wanny left this team with NOBODY. The lowest amount of draft picks still on the team for the last five years. Saban has been pluging holes with stop gap old guys all over the place, especially on the D-line. All of the sudden you've got the comentaters on this site saying Saban made his bed and now he has to lay in it. Give me a break. Injuries and age are taking there toll. Saban unfortunatly fell into the same trap that got Bellichek in Clevland except clevland had more players on the roster for depth than Miami did. All you whinners need to wake up. Give the man some time to get an offensive line and young players.

We need to quit blaming Wanny for how bad this team is performing. Yes he drafted badly, as Jimmy Johnson drafted badly before him and as Shula drafted badly prior to Johnson. Saban has had two drafts and one of the highest picks ever in Dolphin's history. This is Saban's mess and has has done little to actually correct it so far so lets judge him based on what he has done. To say he was saddled with a a team that was bare is so inaccurate and he has signed free agents and draft picks that have done just as little as the regime before him. I won't give up on him after 1 .5 years but lets place the blame squarely wher it belongs.

Cannot agree more on that. A lot of people are very emotional espacially shortly after a game. Facts are that Saban had to rebuild a big part of the team but the good record of last year made a lot thinks we were contenders (I was one of them). I agree with you and it's very unfair to blame Saban. Draft doesn't look quite as good a last year, but considering the few picks we had this year, who know's. Allen might be good, Hagan, despite few drops, showed a little fire lately. In the last 2 drafts, Saban did a lot more than Wanny in 5 years but people wants results right now! Very unfair.

I love some of these posters who tell others to calm down when they hadn't a clue as to what's going on. I guess 1-6 isn't good enough for you. How 'bout 1-15?? As I've often stated, I was a Saban supporter before he came, but anyone who has watched this team over and over again, can see there are some major problems. Are they all Saban's fault, no, of course not. But a good many of them are!! I'm so fed up with people calling other people whiners. One has every right to complain when a team doesn't show up for a game. It's not even a matter of win or lose. I'd just like to see this team compete. I don't mean compete for one quarter and then sit on their laurels for the other "3!!" So yes, we do voice our opinion, but that doesn't make us bad fans or bad people!!:fire:

Who said that fixing a 4-12 team would happen overnight? if you think this is the case then you don't know much about football. All of the winning teams now were bad for a while and once they got good players and consistent coordinators they became good ie' indy, cincy, pitts, seattle,ne, ravens, etc. Its hard to sign big name free agents with our cap situation so we have to signt who we can afford. Who would you have liked saban to sign? That would be or is doing better than who we have? Give me some names, until then just be patient and if the team is in the same shape after 4-5 years then we can start calling for some jobs

I don't think that it was unrealistic to expect at least the same level of performance as we had last year considering the personnel moves (and "non-moves") that were made in the offseason. I, for one, did expect Miami to do well and challenge for the playoffs this year. Unfortunately, it appears as if we have digressed because the same players are not playing as well as they did last year.

Case in point, the offensive line. During our 6-game stretch at the end of the year, we had McIntosh, James, Hadnot, McKinney, and Carey. Now, we have McIntosh, James, Hadnot, Shelton, and Carey (albeit for only the last two games). Not much difference in personnel, but yet the results are significantly different.

I honestly thought this team was prepared for a run to go deep into the playoffs. I thought trading for Culpepper and adding Shelton and Will Allen would make this team very strong. We didn't lose much in Free Agency besides Gus and Linehan. We had two coordinators that have head coaching experience. All the magazines and preview shows were predicting us to go deep into the playoffs. It was hard to not buy into the hype that everybody gave this team. I honestly thought we'd be 10-6 this season.

What's the point of having stop gap players. All that does slow the develope of the football team. If wining isn't the emmediate objective it makes no sense holding on to players that wont be a part of the future.

Ah yes, more revisionist history.

Go back and review the threads on this board from six months ago. Everyone, everyone, EVERYONE thought we were going to the playoffs. And that was the moderate opinion. On the extreme end we had a few who thought we were going to upend the Patriots, win the division and get to the AFC championship if not the Super Bowl.

The few people who expressed contrary opinions were quickly, and harshly, dismissed.

But now that we unequivocally suck, all of the Saban defenders try to shift the blame and claim that the team was bad all along and the only reason to be upset is because we had unrealistic expectations.

Yeah right! Expecting the team to have won more than one game by October is not unrealistic. Nor is hoping that your offense can actually score points, or that your secondary can cover people, or that your kicker can make kicks. Labelling the now disappointed fans is just another way of deflecting blame from Saban who, at the very least, didn't have the team ready to play this season, and at worst, made numerous blunders during the offseason which may end up costing this team down the road (not to mention the mistakes he's made which are costing this team now like hiring Mularkey).

You people are ridiculous! the team is competing, how many games have we been blown out of ? NONE! Do we look great, hell no, did we look great last year, hell no, 2 years ago??? The playcalling sucks (MM), turnovers from tipped passes galore(WR's & TE's), poorly timed penalties (mostly OL).... He doesn't call the plays, doesn't catch the balls, and damn sure doesn't jump before the snap...

We are 2 years removed from one of the worst teams I've ever seen, with very little draft help, and a bad cap position, WTF do you expect?

Would you rather have Vickerson and Evans than Traylor and Wilkinson?? Not only are they better at their positions, they have a wealth of knowledge to learn from. There are obviously more I could add to the list. Think before you type...
