Sparano characterized this latest loss as "baffling". Really Tony? Baffling is:
- signing yet another Cowboys castoff like Marc Colombo, watching him get beat badly in practice and every exhibition game, but not making any other signings or using another option.
- signing Bush and telling us he's a lead back. He's not. He's a great scatback. Let him do what he does best, and give him more than 7 touches a game. Why not split him out wide sometimes and let him go one-on-one with a linebacker. I don't think Mario Williams can cover Bush.
- not drafting, trading for, or signing a seam stretching tight end to pair with Fasano. There were a bunch available this offseason. Clay can't be plan A & B
- letting your FS making his 4th start make all the calls when you have a pro bowl safety in Bell that could easily make the coverage calls.
- still having problems on Special Teams that other teams routinely exploit. SERIOUSLY?!

I am baffled that we continue with a regime that has a GM that can't identify good players in the draft and a head coach that not only doesn't improve his players, but actually causes performance regression. I am now confident that we just aren't as good talent wise to compete with good teams, and I'm not confident that this regime has us on the right track to improvement.

While I'm not panic-stricken like many of my finheaven brethren, I will agree that you have very valid points. I agree 100% about ST. Why are we even bothering to return kickoffs? Seriously. How many drives have started inside the 20 this year because of penalties on Special Teams? And what is with our punt coverage? We have a guy who destroys the ball routinely, but our opponents always seem to get more than a few yards while we struggle to get 1-2. They've tried Gates and Bess, and neither has been able to produce.

It is also clear that Colombo is not the answer. I've said for 2 years that Carey was well past his prime and needed to be moved inside, but not at the expense of constant pressure from the outside. That experiment has failed, and Sparano either needs to sit Colombo or find a replacement.

Ditto your sentiments on TE. When James Casey was available in the draft 2 years ago, we passed on him. A solid pass catcher who was dominant at Rice now sits on the bench behind Daniels in Houston. This past draft, we had a shot at Dorin Dickerson, another receiving TE....but one with 4.4 speed and great size. Now. after getting cut from the already deep Texans, he is behind Heath Miller in Pittsburgh. I was thrilled when we drafted Clay, but he's been nicked. Maybe, like Daniel Thomas, when he gets healthy, we will get production from him as well, so the jury is out for now. I do agree, though, that he shouldn't be our only hope at that position.

It's ok...According to the Tony Supporters, we were supposed to lose...

God they are blinded and think we have a good football team.

Exactly why he should be fired now while we are not completely out of it.
The same problems persist & there is nothing he can do to correct them.

Some simple things...that should be obvious.
Get rid of the excess TE's & sign Liva for PR's.
Bring in some place kickers for a try out. One that can put it in the endzone
Get a lead blocking FB.
Fix the RT situation...try something, move a player, sign a player
Use Bush correctly
Come up with some different red zone plays
Use Rasario in a game
