At the bottom under "Wide Receivers", he's listed as the heaviest.

Do you guys think that is too heavy for a WR? I would think you could very easily shred a knee weighing that much and making the cuts that a WR has to make. I would think 220 would be ideal.

Thoughts?

My thoughts? He's a BEAST!

239 pounds and running 4.3 40s??? Insane!

Best player in the draft by far.

But you wouldn't worry about injuries with weighing that much? I mean he's approaching TE weight territory.

I agree with you, I think he's the best player in the draft as well, but the weight makes you wonder.

Reminds me of David Boston..6-2 228, remember all the knee problems he had as soon as he came to us.. He didnt play 1 game in 04 and played only 5 games in 05. I think an ideal weight for WR should be around 205-215...I think really anything over that and you're treading injury waters

I was just thinking the same thing my brother.

David Boston had those knee problems because he took himself off of the juice. It has nothing to do with being 228 lbs.

he had a torn ACL.

This man is correct. David Boston was that big from steriods, not from being big. On a side note...who wouldn't want a reciever with that size and athletic ability? He's off the board in the first 4 picks.

You may be correct, but weight is still weight regardless of how someone got that big. Dont get me wrong, I was exstatic when I heard we signed Boston, I just wish we could have seen what he was able to do

Weight is only an issue if your knees cant carry it. He is built through his whole body, upper and lower. So I have no doubt his knees will hold up.

Totally different scenario in that Boston was really into working out and putting on too much solid muscle too quickly, which inevitably put himself at risk for injury. Plus, I don't think the juice he was on helped, either. Boston has weighed as much as 250, which is atypical of a WR's weight.

Calvin Johnson has been known to weigh in the 230's, so this should not be an issue. Anyone's weight fluctuates as much as 7 pounds at any given time. Maybe he drank a butt-load of water today? If he weighed in in the 245+ range, I would question if he has been hanging out with JaMarcus Russell.

I doubt coming off the juice had much to do with Boston's injury, he was just too heavily muscled, especially in the upper body area.
He would have injured himself with or without juice, the juice would have made him more injury prone actually as the muscles get a lot stronger than the tendons.
