Whould you trade up for calvin johnson?
What/ Who would you give up to get calvin johnson?
Who would you trade up with?

Positives: Size (6-foot-5, 239 pounds) ... Extraordinary hands and long arms ... Tremendous concentration and focus on the ball, especially in a crowd ... Consistently runs precise routes and does a nice job of setting up defenders with fakes ... Strong enough to beat jams ... Good footwork and agility for his size ... Can withstand hard hits and hold onto the ball ... Excels at delivering crack-back blocks.
Negatives: Hardly any for the player many scouts believe is the most talented of this year's college crop ... Could be more explosive, but also can rely on intelligence and strength to gain separation in man-to-man coverage.

Our 1st, one second this year, one second next year, Booker and Mare.

If you want to trade up to #1 or #2 plan on using ALL your draft picks this year....ALL
Are we 1 player away from the super bowl????
IF NO THEN WHY IN GOD'S NAME WOULD YOU SACRIFICE THE WHOLE DRAFT FOR 1 PLAYER...
Remember Ditka and Ricky...How did that work trading the whole draft for him...Super bowl run...I think not!!

If it was mostly players and not picks I could see doing it.

Trade Chambers,Hill and Williams and I'd do it. But we need our two seconds and our third to fill up the offensive line. We could still get a safety in the 4th. Wendling, Piscettelli, Rouse.

This is all based on the NFL Draft Value Chart. It's almost guaranteed the Raiders select a QB with the #1 pick. We would have to move up to #3 in a trade with the Browns to get ahead of the Buccaneers who are after Johnson also.

Pick #1 - 3,000 points
Pick #2 - 2,600 points
Pick #3 - 2,200 points
Pick #4 - 1,800 points

Our #9 pick - 1,350 points and our #40 pick - 500 points. That's a total of 1,850. Including a 2nd round pick next season would range anywhere between 580 points if we're the worst team or 270 points if we win the superbowl.

Browns get - 1st round #9 pick/2nd round #40 pick/2nd round pick in 2008 would equal a maximum of 2,350 or minimum of 2,120 points
Dolphins get - #3 pick

Even then, I don't think that would be enough.

I think the guy is amazing, but this is a pipe dream. Too many other teams would be interested in doing the same thing, and we would end up having to pay a premium for him. We should be doing everything and everything to trade down. Move to the middle or end of Round 1 and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd.

I just get the feeling that the Raiders are gonna take Johnson first overall. Everyone thought Bush was a lock to go first overall last year, and we all know what happened there.

I think Johnson is the only player worth trading up for in this draft considering how many needs we have. But it would likely take a trade up with Cleveland to get him should Johnson still be available. Trading up all the way to the third spot would cost us to much.

I think the Raiders would have to 1) add a QB and 2) dump both Moss and Porter before I would think they would take Johnson. Part of me has thought all along that they might sign/trade for a QB and then entertain the idea of trading down a few spots and taking Peterson. I know they have Rhodes and Jordan, but if I were them I would definitely consider it. They could use a franchise back.

the only way that russell isnt taken first is if they get carr or culpepper (if we trade him or cut him.) then they could go after Johnson. If we were interested in trading up with them, we could pick up carr, then make a trade with oakland including draft picks and culpepper, maybe even mare or booker.
if get carr our scenerio could be trading up...
#9...1350
#40..500
booker(probably at least a 2 cuz welker went for a 2 and 7)..500 (an average 2 rounder points)
culpepper...(probabaly at least a 2)...500 (an average 2 rounder points)
a 2 or 3 next year draft.
if we do bad this year the 2 rd next year points are gonna be worth more
that would be pretty close to equal, plus the raiders might would do it cuz quinn or russell could still drop to them if they want a QB in the draft)

I'd offfer Oakland:

Daunte Culpepper
Chris Chambers or Marty Booker
Risky Williams
1(#9)
2(#40) this year
2(#60)
6(#166) this year
3 next year that turns to 4 if Cpep starts 10 games or a 2 if he never plays

For Oak's:
1(#1)
2(#33)

1- Calvin Johnson WR
2- Drew Stanton QB
3- James Marten OT
4- Doug Datish C
6- Courtney Brown CB
7- Alonzo Coleman RB
7- Traded for Trent Green

i doubt that they would give us there 2 too cuz the reason they are trading down is to get more early picks in the draft. plus i think ricky fits in good here and will help ronnie alot. ronnie only rushed for 100 yards more last year than the last year with ricky and they split time. we almost doubled our rushing yards that year compared to last years.
