Cam Cameron is a LOSER

other than Capers, they all already have jobs last I check and technically so does Capers. As for Cowher he's still under contract with the Steelers thru '07 and they are gonna want the kinda package Oakland got for Gruden from Tampa, and no way we can stand to lose all those draft pics, especially as fragile as you think the team is, and Saunders hasn't exactly looked too impressive with the Redskins, so I still think you gotta give someone young a shot, not neccessarily Cameron, but gotta start somewhere.

yea, because coaches never jump ship for other jobs

The were actually many unoffical people saying that it was going to happen, one a fairly prominent so called insider from Alabama that made the call that it was going to happen a while back and was already talking about him getting Steele and possibly Fisher as assistants.
Fair enough, but as you noted, the reports were saying unofficial people or insiders. That is very little to go on. I understand that this is a part of investigative reporting but my point is that the only way to evaluate a story such as this, with any degree of certainty, is to look at the credibility of the source and the publication doing the reporting. Quite frankly, Alabama Football insiders and officials do not have the greatest of reputations, and nor does an outfit such as PFT. I can't rememebr how many times they have said that something is guaranteed to happen only to turn out false.
The only article that I saw that actually caused me some concern was Peter King's piece http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/peter_king/01/02/saban/index.html

In fact, the article examines the difficult task of determining what is fact and what is fiction.

I think his head coaching experience, albeit a struggle, is what gives him an advantage over some of the top assistants. As for doing a lot with a lot in San Diego, at least he's done a lot. Many do little with a lot. Over the last three seasons, only the Colts have scored more points than the Chargers, a total of 32 more points in 48 games.

Do you realize how difficult it is to win in football at Indiana? He inherited a program that was 1-15 in the Big Ten the two years before he got there. His last year there they went 4-4 in the Big Ten. They beat Wisconsin 63-32. The won at Michigan State and put up 489 yards rushing in the process. He had one of the best offenses in the country. It's awfully difficult to get enough good players at Indiana to be good enough on both sides of the ball when you've got to play Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Penn State. His third season there they lost to Michigan 34-31. Michigan had Tom Brady, Steve Hutchinson, Anthony Thomas, and David Terrell.

These are Cam Cameron's last four QBs:
As QB coach with Redskins in 1996 - Gus Frerotte made Pro Bowl
As head coach at Indiana in 2001 - Randle El All-American QB
Brees - Pro Bowl in 2004, Pro Bowl alternate in 2005
Rivers - Pro Bowl in 2006

Cameron has five years of NFL play calling experience. He played basketball for Bob Knight. He's coached under Schembechler and Schottenheimer. Heck, Gus Frerotte went to the Pro Bowl with Cameron as his quarterback coach. At least in the NFL teams are pretty much on an even playing field. In college, they are not.

Excellent points, I agree with you!! and welcome to Finheaven!!!

WOW. You have as much football knowledge as my dog and he's dead.

I guess Bill Bellicheck sucks also since he was horrible at Cleveland. Pete Carroll sucks as a coach because he had losing records at NY and NE.

Pete Carroll DOES suck. He is currently a riding high on a very talented program.

For Dophins HC!!!

What make him a better canditate than Mike Martz ? Have he even accomplish half of what Martz has ?

I guess i'm in the minority here because there's just no way Martz ends up here. As much as I would like him here..Just watch I bet ATL picks him up and he help turn Vick's career..
