I think it is safe to say the Coach Cameron better not give up his day job to become a salesman. Is it just me, or did he say the completely wrong things when he needed to say the exact right things at the most critical time. He just dissapoints just about all of Dolphin nation with the Ginn pick and confronts the outraged mob and all he can come up with is "We just drafted the Ginn family" and "Your going to be excited to see him return punts"???? What does his family have to do with anything? I would assume that the point he was trying to make was about the good character of Ginn, especially now with character concerns becoming more of an issue in the NFL (unless your the Pats that is). But sheesh, come on!! No one gives a rats *** about his family 20 minutes after you compleltely pull the rug out from under most Dolphin fans.

AND you just draft a kid at #9, please tell me why you did so. And that reason better be something more spectacular than "well he's a hell of a punt returner". How about telling us you see him as a "Reggie Bush" type player. One we can put anywhere on the field and use his speed to create mismatches. That we're gonna get creative with him and get the balls in his hands because he can take it to the house every time it's in his hands. We don't want to hear about his return skills!!!!! Return skills are a luxury item, we need people who can make plays the other 70-80 or whatever plays a game.

I will end all of this by saying that I was initially horrified by passing on Quinn but with some time and research I am starting to like the picks. Cameron just screwed up big time, when he needed to be at his best. (with the fans that is, not with the pick)

Salesman? what ok look at saban he got a whole bunch of players everyone was excited about but that didnt turn out good cam doesnt need to do what the fans think if he makes us win thats all that matters and he can do that even with less talent.

I agree, all I got from that speach is that he has known the family for 10 years... So he drafted him based on knowing his parents??? I hope his mom is running sprints with the rest of the team in the Miami heat... I dont care about his family, this guy could have been an orphan and if he helped us win games, I dont care... he blew it passing on Quinn and I think he knew it, studdering through his speach...

Guess he wasn't too bad of a salesman when he had the entire football world thinking he was taking Quinn if he fell to us, was he ???

That said, I agree that he erred in introducing him as a returner. As to the Ginn family thing, that didn't bother me one way or the other. I will have all the respect in the world for Mama and Papa Ginn but if Jr doesn't produce, well, that's something different. After all, I thought Eddie Moore was a nice enough fellow, he just didn't cut it on the playing field. So I felt no remorse when he was cut...(finally).

As one of the idiots on ESPN said on draft day after playing that clip of the booing fans... "oops, Rookie HC..!!"

LOL, that's true. I think he did pretty bad with the words he used..though it won't matter when Ginn starts taking it to the house once a game. Everybody will forget about these words..ah, the fans.

Hey, it happens. Do I really think that that's all that Cam thinks of Ginn Jr. as? NO! I'll give him a pass on it and so will everyone else the first time that Ginn Jr. first runs a kick back for a TD and then the first time they see him take a slant to the house by slitting the Safety's.

Many people did not want Quinn, most people wanted us to draft OT or some sexy pick. I do not know why the world was shocked by us not drafting Quinn. He is an impact player, he will play WR we are trying to trade Booker, we are fairly thin at WR

On top of all of this look at the WR's Cam had in San Diego, he did A LOT with those WR's so I think will have a helluva year and Beck will eventually be our starter, Obviously they felt quinn was not as good a fit as Ginn, or Beck.

Cam does not have to justify his picks to the fans, no other coach for the Dolphins ever has, if they did it was massive BS judging by our draft history.

I think time will tell in the NFL, it always does. Moss in NE will not be the amazing pro bowl fit that all the experts are predicting. their system is not one to highlight one WR or RB or any other player, that is not who Moss is.

Why is it that a month ago any team to pick up Moss would be committing suicide, and now the Patriots are geniuses.

You guys were better off with Saban than this deushe.

Cam Cameron LOL - his name is even clownish. :sidelol:

Overrated/Overhyped/Future 2nd string QB + Ignorant Fans = Classless reaction. Go figure. I guess now we know why we have all this bad karma, we have have the worst fan base in all of sports.

um, you just said after thinking about it, you were happy with the pick, which has been the consensus, so why does he have to try and "sell" anything!!!

I really like Coach Cameron, but his raving about "our new punt returner" on Saturday brought back horrible memories of Dave Wannstedt raving about "our new special teams linebacker" (Eddie Moore, our top pick in 2003) on draft day of 2003. I don't know if he thinks fans are morons, but you don't introduce the #9 pick in the draft as "our new punt returner".

If Cam can coach, then to hek with the salesmanship. All we heard for the past two years was Saban's psychobabble which turned out to be a complete fraud. I can't wait to see what Cam can do with an apt pupil like Beck.
