WOW.....Cam is set to start Flacco. I understand that he didn't necessarily CHOOSE to not have Boller or Smith ready for the season but man i think he makes poor choices. That record at Indiana as a head coach (i think it was like 7-55 W/L) is something we should have looked at a bit more closely. Good luck Joe Flacco i hope you aren't mentally defeated for the rest of your career by what this guy is doing to you.
Okay it was 18-37 Still, i think the point is pretty clear

Cam Cameron isnt the HC at Baltimore, so it wasnt his choice. Baltimore I think can challenge Chicago for the worst offense in the NFL. I mean look at their qb's. Boller Flacco and Troy Smith vs Kyle Orton and Grossman. Hmm. Pretty hideous. From what I saw of Flacco in pre season, hes nowhere near ready to be an NFL starter.

i dont think it was his decision completely .. im sure troy smith will take over if flacco doesnt perform well week 1 in my opinion he gives them a better chance of winnin than flacco

Honestly, Joe Flacco is the type of rookie I suspect might be ok to start his first year. I've come to believe over the years that the kinds of players that do well as rookies are the ones that are physically better than the game. The ones that rely on their mental skills and not their physical stature and/or ability...they can struggle, because honestly the mental aspect of the game is ovewhelming to everyone no matter how smart you were in college.

Hence, I said when John Beck was drafted that he is not the type of QB prospect to do well as a rookie and will have to wait until everything "clicks" before he can really manipulate the football field the way he wants.

Hence, I also said before Chad Henne was drafted that he *IS* the type of QB prospect that could do well as a rookie because he's got good thickness and stature, and physically his arm and his throws were unmatched in this rookie class (IMO).

Joe Flacco fits in the latter category. The key for all of these players though, is where is their ceiling? Which ones do better as rookies does not necessarily correspond to which ones will be better pros.

I understand he isn't the HC, but does the OC not have some say in this situation? Was Harbaugh a Off or Def guy in his last job? There are stop gaps out there.....for pretty cheap i bet too.

PS- WE, the 1-15 that we were, actually beat troy smith last year. So from me he gets no props.

John Beck didn't start a game until you guys were 0-10.

The point is that he DID get put into the starting job, no matter of when, and in retrospect it seems to have stunted his growth IMO.
Da, i have to be honest i am curious to see Poluzsny play. You guys are an interesting team.

I'm pretty sure this is because Troy Smith and Kyle Boller are injured.

He isn't the head coach and who really cares? Baltimore isn't any good and they may as well go with Flacco since they consider him their QB of the future.

But he could have started him after the bye, at home, against buffalo.. Instead he waited the following weeks to start him at Pitt and at Philly (in the worst weather imaginable.

Why do people make it seem like Cam is the one making the decisions?

And everybody raved about what an excellent job he did: "poise in the pocket and no turnovers." He did excellent with the first 2 starts; why the melt down when starting game 12? Beck sat or over half the season. He WAS NOT thrown to the wolves. Everybody thgought he was ready to play; even a sportscaster suggesed Hugenzia should make Cam play Beck. I'm tired of the excuses. If he wasn't ready at game 10, he will never be ready.
