Stop with the character stuff, this kid is the truth. Arm, smarts, height, speed, etc. I'm watching the Georgia game and he is a general out there, calm, cool, collective and physical. He's already better than Young (and Henne).

Fire Henning, fire Sparano, give up as many pics as you can (Ditka-esque) and grab the kid. Let's stop playing around with 2nd round stiffs and has beens. The stadium will be packed every Sunday to watch this kid.

And No, he is not another Fatarpus Russell. Let the Bills take luck, the Cowboys still think Romo is the answer, so the kid could fall.

Cleveland would also kill people with Cam, Hillis, and Cribbs.

Kolb scares me, I wouldn't touch him (Feely 2.0).

Newton is a physical freak as an athlete, and I think he's a legit passer with a strong arm. He's not a Tebow and certainly not a bigger Pat White. He needs to spend at least a year as understudy, so I'd be a fan of signing McNabb to a 1 or 2 year deal. Also, as much as people will groan at this, we would HAVE to give Cam a shot at wildcat.

Also, with Luck and Mallett as the first two QBs likely to be taken, it's possible we could get Newton without having to move up in the draft, or at the most move up a few spots. If we're giving up whole drafts to get a QB, Luck is the guy, but I don't like that approach and neither does the current front office. I do think Newton is going to go in the first round, I don't care what mock drafts are saying. But I can't see him going in the top 10 with questions about running an NFL-style offense and character concerns.

So yeah, I'm with you. At this point I want either Cam Newton or Justin Blackmon with our first pick. Time to take a chance.

EDIT: Newton can come out after this season, and he'd be nuts to stay at Auburn with all of this stuff swirling, even with labor uncertainty in the NFL.

Newton is junior & as I understand eligible. I would love to see CN2 in A & O next year.

I hope he and Auburn don't get screwed because his dad is a fool. Really who wants to play for Mississippi State?

Isn't funny how the Newton scandal really gained traction after Bama lost to LSU?

just my take but i don't think his game which is built primarily around running is gonna work in the pros...although he does have a pretty damn good arm...

he's a tough one for me to take a stance on

dont get the hype honestly. rather have luck, stanzi, or mallet

What is your deal with bringing up Saban or Alabama in all of your posts?

Alabama doesn't have anything to do with Cam Newton... Bama didn't even recruit him...

Alabama has nothing to do with Kenny Rogers, Bond, or Cecil Newton... Cam Newton has been being investigated since July... it began to gain steam after the public found out about the investigation...

The public found out about the investigation because of Kenny Rogers...

Who wants to play for Mississippi St.? Cam Newton wanted to play for Mississippi St.... he wanted to play for Dan Mullen, who he has ties with from his Florida days to begin with...

Besides, the investigation about Newton broke to the public on November 4th.... Bama and LSU didn't play until the November 6th...

Isn't it funny how a 5-19 coach like Gene Chizik came to Auburn and suddenly was able to rake in a top 5 recruiting class?

Once they get to the bottom of the Cam Newton fiasco (if ever), the next thing on Auburn's plate is the shady recruitment of Michael Dyer...

Auburn has plenty to be worried about, but big brother damn sure ain't one of 'em... at least until they come to Tuscaloosa in 2 weeks...

Just like back in the day when Pat Dye
uttered these famous words"They ain't
got nothing on us"...Then the 60 Minutes
story broke.

Stop with the character stuff?

I'm supposed to trust my franchise in the hands of a guy who has done nothing but be a poster child for poor judgment? And I'm supposed to hand him the keys to my offense at the most important position AND expect him to be a LEADER? Can Newton has shown me nothing that makes me believe he can be a trusted leader. He doesn't have the brains.

He's gifted and a physical freak, but character at this position matters more than any other position. You need a guy with brains to play QB. Get me a REAL quarterback.

Exactly... Dye might have gotten away with saying that as only the head coach, but not as AD too...

The Ramsey kid situation is merely a drop in the bucket compared to this...
