please, enough with the Cam Wake for president stuff, he's a one trick pony, and a situational guy for NOW... he needs to add the run stopping element to his game and that doesn't happen over night...

if a punter juked him when he went wide, what do you think Reggie Bush will do to him??

Blah blah even Pat Willis a tackle now and again - yes he is situational... BTW - and every team would like a guy with that kind of speed and determination to come off teh bench "situationally"

majority of RBs can easily juke out the majority of DEs/3-4 OLBs in space... its rare for them to be put in that situation...

So the essence of this argument is that since Wake missed a tackle in space he is useless? Do I even need to label this an INSANE generalization? Isn't it kind of obvious?

Did you see what Ronnie did to Revis? and yet, he was still in the game on the next play...

If coaches tossed every player after missing a tackle in space would there be anyone in Canton? Would there be anyone on our 'D'???

To be honnest, I don't consider Porter and Taylor got the "run stopping element" to their games !!!

You made your opinion cause he got juked by a guy once in the open field? Wake had two choices: buy the fake or not. He made the wrong choice at a limiting angle, on a guy moving twice as fast as himself.... Ronnie was doing it to pro-bowlers all night from MUCH less difficult to tackle scenarios than Wake was involved in with the punter. Porter does nothing against the run and Taylor only shows up half the time lately.

Who told you he cannot tackle? A coach, CK or is this just your opinion based on that one play.

Speaking of generalization... did you just compare Ronnie Brown to the Jets Punter?
Anyway, the reason he isn't starting is because he's no Porter/JT. Bottom line.

Did you see how Weatherford looked running? The guy def has some athletic ability, you can just tell. Heres what i found out about him.

"Weatherford attended Terre Haute North Vigo High School in Terre Haute, Indiana, where he played punter, kicker and safety on the football team. As a punter and place kicker, he set records for the most field goals in a career, longest punting average and longest field goal made (55 yards vs. Lawrence North High School). He averaged 45.4 yards per punt and held a 4.26 second hangtime average. As a kicker, Weatherford made 37 of 40 extra point attempts and connected on seven field goals from 40 yards or longer. He was named to the All-Conference team and earned All-State honors as a kicker twice consecutively. As a safety, Weatherford managed two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
Weatherford also played soccer, track and basketball, earning a total of thirteen varsity letters in his high school career. He was an All-County forward in soccer, and an All-State track team member three times. He also set a Junior Olympics record in the 4x800 meters relay. He also set a school record in the 300-meter hurdles (39.34 seconds)."

Not to mention hes 6'3 215 lbs

 Funny. Truly.

I was comparing how hard it is to make plays in space...

And Really... Did you just quote Porter/JT as examples of run stopping ability?

I was unaware that weak side linebackers were good run stoppers. hmmm im pretty sure he wont start because Joey Porter is a team captain and that would be tough to sit a guy coming off a 17.5 sack season because of a "potential" guy.

That J-E-T-S punter is one awesome athlete (for a punter) he is really (true story) did you see (really?)

And Porter and Taylor can stop the run? WOW!

I can't remember how many times both have missed running backs because there main purpose is to get to the QB.
