Give me the best runner of our generation, a very good and underrated line, a top 3 tight end and a smart quarterback and I'll look pretty good to...
The guy is a mirage created by circumstance.
I understand the argument against Cameron, but he's helped build that offense.
It's not like he took over an established offense; when he became the OC, the only thing on the offense was LT. Since he's been the OC, they've drafted 2 pro bowl O-linemen (Hardwick and McNeil), got a starter in the 7th (Olivea), got an underachiving guard (Goff), and a veteran LT for cheap (Oben) for the o-line.
I'll give you that anybody could have a great offense with LT,Brees/Rivers, and Gates, but you still need some good WRs. Who has San Diego had? David Boston (on and off for a year), Keenan McCardell, Eric Parker, Reche Caldwell? (but the only two years h contributed he gt hurt early and often), and Vincent Jackson (a guy that was the third string TE last year).
Again, I'm not disagreeing with you. I respect your opinions, and normally you and I agree on most issues with the team. However, I think everyone of the finalists for the job have their advantages and disadvantages. And I think the arguments against some of the coaches are weak (especially against both Cameron and Gailey).
I'm not even saying Gailey is my favorite. I'll admit, I wanted Brian Schottenheimer. Now I'm just happy knowing we won't get Mike Martz (if he was our coach, you could kiss ay chance of the playoffs good bye)
