Camarillo’s contract seems to be a priority for the Dolphins, who are in discussions with him about a new deal.

Another interesting tidbit:
As a sidenote, the team renegotiated the contract for nosetackle Jason Ferguson, signing him to a two-year, $17 million deal late last month, an NFL source said. Ferguson would earn $8.5 million if he hits some easily attained incentives

I love the message being sent, signing guys who are really performing beyond expectations like Patrick Cobbs and now Greg.

Sends a message to Channing and Vernon, guys who many here (myself included) thought would be the priorities.

Anyone else surprised about Ferguson's extension? He's getting pretty old but has been solid this year. I guess one less position we need to address in the draft though. Focus on LB/CB.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Cha-Ching!

What a story man, it just goes to show that if you work hard.... anything can happen.

Yeah if a guy earns it then I have no prblem with this signing or the signing of Cobbs.

he deserves a ernest wilford type deal, i hope he'd be happy with 3-4 mill a year... he shouldnt get paid 6 mil... that is over paying, since we'll likely grab a true no. 1 reciver in the offseason via draft... and ginn is our no.2 for a while.. perfect fit for that... and bess is a solid slot guy... so i know camarillo is productive but i dont know how he becomes a no.1 reciver next year with his size and speed.. he's really good but more of a no.2 or slot reciever...

we should totally give him a long term deal though... i really love what he's done, and his attitude and play making along with other over acheivers has led us to the 5-4 mark and future playoff birth we are lookng forward too.

I believe they are also hot and heavy with Yeremiah Bell right now. They already got Cobbs wrapped up a little bit earlier. They love Channing Crowder. I expect they'll get him done eventually.

Vernon Carey appears to be the odd man out thus far. They may wait to see him test the market and then make a decision on whether or not they want to match.

sign him to a 7 year deal!! he must be a dolphin for the rest of his career!

Here goes that madden talk again......JK we owe Greg alot. Especially considering that he saved us from having the worst season in NFL history. I dont know about 7 years though, i'd give him 4 maybe 5 tops with a fat bonus but chip the base salary so we dont screw ourselves with the cap on a slot receiver, which is what he will be when we pick up a no. 1 in the offseason.

good we're gonna need some receivers that have been here longer than a year playing with a quarterback longer than a year
