After looking at the stats of the phins wr's, I cant believe who is in the lead. The man who saved the dolphins from the worst record in NFL history. Greg Camarillo.
I think to myself how is this possible but I can only blame myself for believing all hype. All summer long we heard how Ginn was improving, and what a deep threat he was going to be. Then it was the aquisition of Ernest Willford the Jags leading receiver last year who would compliment him as the all important posession and redzone receiver. Turns out it was all just a smoke screen. What I don't understand though is how the coaches havent found ways to utilize them. Game 1, end of the game and we're sending 5'9" guys on fade routes while our 6'4" (this is why you signed me wr), is on the sidelines in street clothes. Ginn, why isn't he in motion or playing the slot where he can come off the line untouched, or getting wr screens where he can utilize his quickness and speed, and g*d d^mn, if they arent going to get him involved in the offense at least let him return punts and kicks. Remember how the coaching staff expressed how much better our special teams would be, then show us by putting your best returner in the game. Finally though, the problem may rely on our starting qb. When we signed Pennington everyone was saying his noodle arm wouldn't affect us he'll be able to do it on smarts and completion percentage. Well it has, because of his inabilty to throw the deep ball safeties and corners are able to cheat up because they don't respect the long ball. This also kills our running game. Linebackers and linemen are able to play run first defensive schemes.
Leaving us to the ever dreaded third and long.
Which goes a little something like this. It starts out as our porous offensive line not being able to pick up any type of blitz package. Pennington then has to throw the ball to his check down receiver. Normally ending up as an incompletion, but 7 times for 86 yards it has landed in the hands of Greg Camarillo, your #1 statistical wr in both catches and yards for the Miami Dolphins.

Don't feel bad mn, I too was a sucker for thinking our receivers would perform even a little better than last year.

regardless Camarillo has show something did you see that one handed catch he got (even tho it was out of bounds) that was amazing

yes im a little surprised but camarillo is a decent receiver obviously not a # 1 or mayb not # 2 option but he is startin to become pretty reliable in a way.. so far hes been the most consistant receiver

Yep, he's proven he deserves a shot in the nfl, but like you say it was ob

yeah its bad... but i believe pennington is the problem and the solution... hes needs to throw the ball deep more often... the first two games all ive seen is teams stack the box against us...

He was really flying around there yesterday. He is no blue chip player, but he is definitely giving it his all.

It was just a horrible match-up for us. Our DB's are small and their WR are huge and fast. Our scheme is simple and aggresive, Saban would have tried to trick Warner and probably would have done better IMO.

The announcers really harped on it, but we are not built to play catch-up. They're right. It is not really the offenses fault that they were down 14 to nothing in the 1st quarter.

I wuz there yesterday...stayed at team hotel...watched them board the buses...first WR out/on? Camarillo. Next? Bess. Last? "The Family".(btw...wilford's $16m/'mop' looked great...outta the hotel, and on the sidelines; clearly his best play all day!)

The guy has heart, he blocks, he catches everything (loved that one-handed one...even if OB...) They guy is not great, but he moves the sticks. Until we get a big threat...don't blame Camarillo for being pretty good...its not his fault the others around him suck...and yes...Ted Ginn sucks.

The problem starts with pennington and ends with pennington, no disrepect to him but his lack arm strength, his slow drop back and his telling delivery is giving the defense way too much of an advantage.

Camarillo is usually open, he's better then he's been given credit for, maybe sitting Wilford was exactly what he and the team needed. Of course maybe it was a bonehead move, bottom line is its too early to tell.

If Ginn played with half the heart of Camarillo he would be on the way to the Hall of Fame.

whats worst is last year when chambers was still our leading WR regardless of getting traded 8 games before lol.....''only in miami''

Fans feel about Camarillo like they did about Welker. I'm sure Camarillo will be glad to go to a team that can use and appreciate his talents. And you wonder why the dolphins are in the cellar?

I completley agree with this. Camarillo is a way better reciever than given credit for. Everyone was saying the same about welker and then we traded him when he was our best receiver that year. hopefully they dont do the same at the end of this year
