After looking at the stats of the phins wr's, I cant believe who is in the lead. The man who saved the dolphins from the worst record in NFL history. Greg Camarillo.
I think to myself how is this possible but I can only blame myself for believing all hype. All summer long we heard how Ginn was improving, and what a deep threat he was going to be. Then it was the aquisition of Ernest Willford the Jags leading receiver last year who would compliment him as the all important posession and redzone receiver. Turns out it was all just a smoke screen. What I don't understand though is how the coaches havent found ways to utilize them. Game 1, end of the game and we're sending 5'9" guys on fade routes while our 6'4" (this is why you signed me wr), is on the sidelines in street clothes. Ginn, why isn't he in motion or playing the slot where he can come off the line untouched, or getting wr screens where he can utilize his quickness and speed, and g*d d^mn, if they arent going to get him involved in the offense at least let him return punts and kicks. Remember how the coaching staff expressed how much better our special teams would be, then show us by putting your best returner in the game. Finally though, the problem may rely on our starting qb. When we signed Pennington everyone was saying his noodle arm wouldn't affect us he'll be able to do it on smarts and completion percentage. Well it has, because of his inabilty to throw the deep ball safeties and corners are able to cheat up because they don't respect the long ball. This also kills our running game. Linebackers and linemen are able to play run first defensive schemes.
Leaving us to the ever dreaded third and long.
Which goes a little something like this. It starts out as our porous offensive line not being able to pick up any type of blitz package. Pennington then has to throw the ball to his check down receiver. Normally ending up as an incompletion, but 7 times for 86 yards it has landed in the hands of Greg Camarillo, your #1 statistical wr in both catches and yards for the Miami Dolphins.
