I'm over here now
I do not think the signing of Cameron Wake will have any influence on our FA signings or early round draft picks. He is an unknown in the NFL arena and cannot be depended on until he is on the field.

I do not see how his signing will stop us from signing a high priced OLB FA or drafting one early, which i mean in the first 3 rounds. The only influence i can see is it may stop us from signing one in the 7th round.

He will not motivate the FO to trade Porter. If an OLB in the 1st, 2nd round is the BPA of need for us, we will not pick another player because of Wake.

The history of CFL players is enough to show that we cannot depend on him until he proves something. He is strictly a bonus at this point. Yes, some people are saying that we got a first day pick without using one but we will not pass on Sintim/Cushing/Brown etc... becuase of Wake if they are the top rated player on the board when we pick.

i see all these posts of people saying we will go this way or not sign that way because of Wake and it confuses me.

Was kinda wondering this myself. For people that have seen Wake play in the CFL, what type of draft pick would Wake be the equivelent to?

They gave him alot of money. That being said i think they are banking on him as being like a first round pick.

Which LB would we sign?

Julius Peppers?

i am not sure if we would sign a FA OLB (high priced) but if we didnt, i dont think it would be because of Wake.

The only influence i could see Wake being a part of his lower tier player signings or picks.

it may not stop us.. but im sure it will influence the decisions a bit.. anytime you sign a player it has an affect on your future signings

hey, i dont mind getting depth at LB. especially if we are gonna use 4 of them on every defensive down.

and some people may not give wake enough credit.
maybe getting cut brought him down to earth and he made changes for the better.
i assume he was under contract for two years, in the CFL. so its possible he could have been good enough for the NFL last year, or even 2 years ago. we'll see how it plays out. im hoping for the better.

Well yeah we will look for a OLB in the draft cause JP is older and Cam in inexperienced so we need a young guy to teach up to be the guy to take over JP's spot.

And Wake wasnt a good ans solid player in the CFL....HE FREAKING DOMINATED IT. He walked all over everybody. I think Cam will have to work his way into the lineup and if we get Sintim/English/Cushing they may start and Cam may work in himself in or the other way around...WHO KNOWS

Arena football is different than the CFL which is different than NFL Europe.....just so u know!!

i agree, but the effect the Wake signing might have is where we draft another OLB.... maybe later rounds.... get other positions a little earlier.

And based off of last years draft, we could still sign an OLB early since we signed double positions last year.

remember guys u gotta ask yourself y did bp get this guy out of all of the other guys in the cfl, he must have seen something in this guy to pick him up maybe he is that good, i think he is going to be one of those steals in the draft if he had gotten drafted

Wake is just as proven as Sintim/Cushing/Brown(who is Brown???)....

it would influence the draft, especially if we get another OLB in FA....you can almost ceraintly look for MIA to address another need for this team, cause filling up on a bunch of OLBs is beyond me...
