Did these guys stay in Miami for some unknown reason? And no, this is not a rhetorical question.

Overrated. Dolphins have not had real difference makes since Taylor and Thomas. Wake is decent, but not in the same league. Those guys could take over a game.

Also, Wake also has a $9.7 million cap hit next season. Dolphins may want to re-evaluate that one. Dolphins can only prey some team that is one pass rusher away from title contention will give up a 2nd for him.

I'm with you. We need cap space, and more young talent. Wake's a good pass rusher, but he's neither cheap or elite. Might be time to part ways if you can find a suitor.

These guys are good players. We are the ones that overrate them. They aren't great. Then when they get into games where they need to be great, we get angry with them because they aren't what we thought.

I think most NFL teams would love to have either of them if not both of them. It's not their fault they aren't quite All-Pro caliber players. There are a lot of other parts of this defense that need work. I think if the Dolphins got a real playmaker at linebacker who could do it all, Wake and Vernon would look a lot better.

I'm officially off the wake train, he isn't getting it done anymore, he and the rest of the team are front runners

Not sure what is happening with Wake. I saw him come close a couple of times.....but really has had no impact for the last month.

The team gave up on Philbin and Coyle. That much is obvious.
Once Albert was lost for the season, that started the slide.
RT, Miller, and Landry have been warriors on offense.

Wake gets doubled almost every passing down. He can't do anything about that.

I agree, this may not be a rhetorical question, but it's a repetitive one, because you've posted it about 6 times in the last three weeks (aka "Wake is invisible", "Trade Wake", etc.).

I think you're being way too hard on these guys. It's extremely difficult for rush ends like Wake and OV to make plays when they're being fed a steady diet of up-the-gut runs, play action, three step drops and double teams. If you add in the fact that they're being freely substituted out for players like Shelby and Fede (who are admittedly better against the run), their opportunities have been very limited. The last 4 games, the opposing OC's have deliberately and methodically taken OV and Wake out of the game - and it's worked (yes, they have become invisible). But don't make it like it's somehow due to a lack of effort/talent on their part.

Well, on the last sentence, maybe it is a bit their fault. They are not elite at edge-setting, block-shedding or run-stuffing, and so they're not making the plays we really need in these games. But then, there are very few 4-3 DE's who are elite against both pass and run, and blaming OV and Wake for not being that is pretty rich.
