One of the biggest let downs for myself this season has been watching the coaching staff keep this kid off the field for more plays than he's on. Put the guy in at middle linebacker if need be. Channing Crowder is either terrible or spectacular, never consistant, and more often terrible than spectacular.

Do any of the gurus on here (CK, etc) have any answers for me?

I've been swamped at work so I haven't been on as much. I don't know if this has been discussed but its driving me to get bombed every contest before half-time gets even remotely close to coming around. Its not fun to have a vague memory after every game.

When they keep Wake on the field, sacks happen. Sub him with Gibril if that'll get him in the majority of snaps. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd end up providing better coverage and coming away with an interception.

Cameron Wake is a playmaker. He has proven it. He has got to be a starter on this defense.

the problem is he's a pass rusher, like Joey Porter and Jason Taylor, thats 3 pass rushers, only room for 2 at linebacker for every down scenario, he still has a lot to learn, he has a great future ahead of him, but Porter and Taylor have him beat on fundamentals, roth will most likely become our starting strong side LB now that he'll be off the PUP, and Taylor will be taking over for him on passing downs, but Wake can't replace Porter, not yet, Wake will get his time, and he'll be a great playmaker for years to come, but as for now he needs to sit back and learn from some of the best pass rushers in the NFL, lets not forget he only had one good game, didn't do much damage against the Jets, give'em time

He didn't do much in the jets games because he didn't get enough playing time. These guys are smart enough to figure out a way to get him in the game more to get pressure on the QB. He is the best guy out there at getting pressure. He may not get the most sacks, but he has been very disruptive when he has gotten the time.

Actually he should have played more against the Jets. Joey was obviously slowed by his injury and Wake should have started and Porter could have had an extra week to recover.

This is why you have this kind of depth. These guys getting up in their thirties need to realize their mortality and not hurt the team by playing when they are injured.

I've watched the game three times and Joey wasn't himself.

Maybe a Punter shaking him down, had something to do w/ him not getting playing time.

If he was on the field all the time I have a feeling you would see pretty quick why he isn't on the field all the time. He's raw and the coaches will know the right times to use him.

If a Punter can shake Wake in space, what is L. Washinton gonna do to him?

Wake doesn't play well in space that's why he won't start for some time in the nfl.

He could be a 4-3 DE right now but we run a 3-4 and if your a OLB in a 3-4 you have to pay well in space, and Wake still can't.

The guy who signed him to play in Canada said that as well, and i've seen many of his games from up there and he just can't play well in space. He can get after the QB right now but he's not an every down player/End thread.

Think of wake as a rookie. He will get more playing time as the season progresses. be patient. right now he's a one trick pony. His skills will develop.

He needs to learn the system a lil more. we cant just throw him in and expect him to do what he did in canada. He also played DE in CFL, not OLB which has its differences. I dont mind letting him come off the bench this season, and then start him next season. Lets get all we can out of Porter. Imagine having a fresh OLB rushing off the edge almost every down. this could be really good for our DEF!!!

Yep, one was injured the other wasn't.

Sorry kid Porter doesn't get a pass. Not for injury not for play... If anything he has become MORE one dimensional not less to the point where he is becoming a liability in the run game...

If you want to blame his Houdini act against the Jests on Monday on injury, then frankly he should not have suited up or the coaches should have kept him out... I had to keep checking numbers as he looked like Crowder 'part deux' out there with his late reactions and capital 'W' whiffs... I thought someone slipped something into my beer and I was seein' double.

Wake has equalled Porter's season stats in one game... In fact bettered them. Porter IMO has worn out his welcome as an every down guy and should be situational not Wake. Wake has upside, Porter..?

Btw I saw Ronnie Lott get 'shake and baked' in space when he played... In short... it happens.

Porter has continued his mediocre play from last season. I think the age is def starting to show now.

He did that against whom? A 3rd string Bill's OL?

Did that happen against a punter? I don't think so.

Wake had 1 game of pressure on a QB that doesn't handle pressure well and an OL that isn't NFL worthy.
