He wants to come back next year, I say we keep him for as long as he wants and how he wants to go out, I'm sick of seeing people in this site that want to let him go just because of one bad season, so a player can put up an X amount of multiple amazing seasons but he has one bad season and it's time to get rid of him? It's thinking like this as to why we never land franchise hall of famers.

It's not just about his production, it's also about his contract. The longer tenured a veteran player is, the more they command. It's no so much disloyalty as having to keep cap room and getting the best value we can while doing so. I'm a big fan of guys like Wake and Gore and the veteran leadership they bring, but I think it really comes down to A.) Can we afford to keep them? and B.) Will we be a legit contender while they are still able to contribute? Because if not, there's no reason to keep them.

Wake and Gore are humble guys and they will come cheap money isn't an issue ,and if that's the case if we are not contending we should just trade any decent Player we have away and act like we are not an NFL franchise, we have not been a "Contender" since the 1970's and have had players stay for the latter half of their careers

Looks like Charles Harris will be a training camp casualty. We should keep Wake as a 3rd down specialist. But teams will run at him with ease.

How does it look line this? Do you have any sort of article or source or anything or just completely made this up?

According to PFF Harris was one of our best lineman this year and last. The (real life) articles Ive read about him say the coaches love him and that hes been improving. He's on a cheap rookie deal....

So uhh how does it "look like" he will be cut exactly?

I'd keep him on a reduced contract (if he would accept), and use him strictly as a situational pass rusher.

This is a case where an honorable franchise would keep a player like Wake, assuming the $ is not ridiculous.

I'm usually on the side of better to get rid of a guy a year early than a year late, but not in this case.

Wake has always been a stand up guy, who played his a$$ off, no matter what the situation, and never once, that I know of, made excuses for himself or anyone else.

If the guy wants to play another year or two, he deserves some loyalty from the organization IMO.

I don't care how PFF grades him. Harris has NOT been a top level DE to this point, and I haven't seen anything that would lead me to believe he ever will be.

He has improved. There was a time when he was a distinct liability on the field.

What are the coaches going to say about a player, who by all accounts, works hard to improve?

Great news he needs to retire as a Dolphin. Anyone who says he lost a step hasn’t payed attention. He’s still an elite pass rusher and the guy get held more than anyone in the NFL. Idk how to find the PFF stats on pass rushers cause I’m not a member but I’d bet a lot he still finished top 10 for hurries, qb knock downs and pressures.

He has played fine since returning from that knee procedure combined with the fact that the FO has failed to draft an adequate replacement... so of he wants to return as the article says.

That comment from Gase wasn’t actually a ringing endorsement .... ugh.

Were going to be in the same situation again where we cant turn over every position- so if Wake and Quinn are out what’s the plan? Draft multiple DE and a DT? Good luck especially if some of you want to trade up for a QB. FA wont be the answer either- dollarnwise.

I hate to say this, but he should really seek employment elsewhere. This team is going nowhere. He should find a team that actually has a shot to win it all before his career is over.
