They were talking about Jason Taylor and draft day trades.....

Chris Carter said "Let' see which teams panic (since there is only 10 minutes in the first round), and select a Teddy Ginn when there are higher rated players on the board."

yeah i saw that. I cant imagine they 'paniced'. if they did they would have gone brady quinn right? I mean when you panic you take the obvious choice, and then are dissappointed with it.
 
Chris Carter is an idiot. Panic? He was the guy they targeted. And nobody is in ANY position to knock the pick. For one, Teddy is a real good player. And Brady has shown NOTHING. For all we know John Beck could end up as good, or better.

PS Why are we talking about 365 day old news? :) Go Parcells!
 
Atleast Cameron had the Camerones to make the pick. He didn't like Quinn so he didn't take him . . . and we are better for it because we may not have had Parcells right now and Quinn still probably wouldn't have faired much better than Beck if at all.

I guarantee in a few years we will talk about that selection of TEddy Ginn over Brady Quinn being a HUGE reason for the success of the Miami Dolphins.
 
supposedly if ted ginn reached #13 he was gonna be selected anyways... i dont think we 'reached'
 
I saw the interview with Brady Quinn in NFLTA the other day and they played the Dolphins Draft party scene when the Dolphins selected Ginn. Everyone looked shocked. I was so shocked. I dont think ive ever cursed so much in the period of a few minutes.
Looking back at the decision, I like it, but i was not too pleased back then.

You know what REALLY gets me about some of these ESPN schmucks? You can tell which are the guys who know nothing about a team (or the draft eligible players), and merely go by what the 'general consensus' is.

For instance, remember when they booed Cameron for picking Ginn, yes, he stunk, should have taken Brady Quinn. Instead of, lets evaluate the CURRENT (not last year, CURRENT) situation of the Miami Dolphins.

Funny you mention Houston. If ANYTHING, IMO, they panicked, and were prepared to take Ginn. Okoye was a silly pick for a team with so much invested on the defensive line.

I didn't because I thought the team was ready for a playoff run . . . and with signing Joey Porter . . . I thought JT, ZT, CC and JP was a fantastic LB core . . . and we needed an impact player like Ginn.

If we didn't sign JP, I wanted Willis.

It wasn't panic, it was stupidity and lack of football knowledge.
