Hey guys, this is my first post, I'm new to the whole message board thing. My friend told me about the site.
Anyway, I was at camp today and will be to every practice. I wanted to give a summary of what I saw/thought.
-Frerotte didn't look too good IMO, Feely was better overall but didn't exactly set the world on fire.
-At RB, Ricky showed good burst. He looks a bit light though.
-On the o-line I was very impressed with the right side, McDougle and Hadnot were punishing people. They are both big time road grading maulers in the run game. McKinney looked "ok" I guess. I was hoping for more from him, but it is early. James looked solid. Carey, well it's hard to say since he's facing an elite DE, he got pushed back a lot but at times held his own. Again, it's early, I expect to see some improvement there. The backup tackle Damian Cook showed some toughness and a mean streak.
-On the d-line the rookie Manny Right from USC towers over the other d-lineman, he's easily the tallest at 6-6. He's a big presence on the inside. I'll be watching him closely. He just may be a player for us. Traylor looked pretty good I thought. He was taking it to McKinney in one on ones. Pushing him back and just overpowering him. Roth has a lot of intensity, he got in a little scuffle with an o-lineman.
-At LB Crowder shined. He's fast. They were doing ST drills where when the ball was snapped to the punter they would all do up/downs and run to the line and Crowder was smokin' them. He's a player. Seau didn't participate in the night practice, in his place on the weakside was Pope.
-At DB Daniels was making some plays before he got hurt. I hope it's not serious, what's the word on him, anyone know?
-That's all I can think of now, toworrow evening I'll get up another report from the 3-5 practice.
