Not employing a solid pass-catching TE.

It killed me last year when Cam Cameron and Trent Green both came aboard, and the Dolphins decided to release Randy McMichael, the only above-average receiving TE on the roster. Cameron was used to having Antonio Gates play for him as San Diego's OC, and Green was used to throwing to Tony Gonzalez during his time in Kansas City. It also is well known that receiving TEs help to develop young quarterbacks by acting as a "safety net" many times. Plus, if you look at the top offenses in the league, the majority of them rely quite heavily on their TE's, especially in the red zone (where the Fins struggled last year).

Considering all of this, why did the Dolphins' FO feel that there was no need to draft or sign a TE that was more of a receiving threat? And why the need to release McMichael (I don't believe the whole Cam clearing the locker room of cancers thing). In the draft, we had a few chances to grab solid TE's (Spaeth, Boss), but never did. Even when Ben Patrick fell all the way to the 7th round, we decided to draft a FB that no other team had considered looking at, unless in FA after the draft (Mauia).

So what does the future hold? Hopefully Parcells realizes this correlation and the luxury of having a guy like Jason Witten, and drafts a receiving TE on day 1. Luckily for us, this draft seems to be especially deep in TE's.

The worst move for me was giving up welker.

two words:

Kellen Davis.

Or cottam. I know we are defenitely getting a TE. Its the BP way. Gotta have a good TE. It is essential.

As far as Randy Mcmicheal is concerned. He stunk anyways. Not worth the money...so we move forward. Its not really a loss to me cus the guys was not worth it. Was he better? yes. But not enough to make any kind of difference when we had lame *** coaching.

Cam's worst move started on draft day. Ted Ginn instead of Brady Quinn or even better yet...Patrick Willis. Instant impact was Willis. Instead we got a speed guy who will take a couple of seasons to get going. Great special teamer, if only he could go straight up field instead of dancing...

No way. We gave up a guy for a Pro Bowl type C/G who could be here for a long time. Welker had heart, but obviously his heart is in another place. Too bad his heart was broken by the NY giants.

Getting rid of Mcmichael was not a bad move, he is average at best. He didnt perform in a supposed high powered air attack in St.Louis. Getting rid of Welker wanst bad either because we got satelle. At the end of the day, with the state of our O-Line and QB at that time they werent going to be successful here anyways. I am not an apologist for either of them, but I cant say either was a bad move. Besides Mcmichael's off the field issue would have immediately put him in Jeff Ireland's and BP's doghouse and probably wouldn't be here anyways.

Beat this dead horse some more

Oh god not this again! Samson Satele> Wes Welker. I want to see how great welker will be when the #2 conerback moves in the nickel spot with the number 3 on the ousited covering a slow jabr gafney.

fgrocker, if you insist we pick up a TE in the draft, why don't you even have one on your personal mock draft listed?
