In my opinion I feel that there 2 major reasons that Cam wanted to have Green in a Fin uniform:

1st is the obvious that we have the chance to WIN NOW w/him as out leader.

2nd and what I feel is the most important reason, is to tudor Beck. Culpepper has the physical ability, but Green has the intelligence, familiarity w/the offense, and leadership capabilities that he will be able to teach to Beck.

I think down the road and maybe sooner, that we will see the benefits of having Green in a Fin uniform, even if it is only for 2-3 years.

It's nice to have a QB again that can read a defense, unlike Pep or Joey, ugh. Hopefully, he'll pass some of that experience onto Beck.

I agree that Green would be alot more helpful in taking Beck under his wing. Something that I don't think Culpepper would do.

MY opinion...

1st I don't believe it's a chance to win now that Cam is aquiring Green for. It is to help the Offensive including RB and WR to assimilate Cam's system faster. If not faster, it has at least the team leader with the ability to know the plays called, the WR's route. That is something that Daunte will be really behind in and can second guess the plays called in...

2nd maybe tutor would be to strong of a word . While Beck will learn from him, the best way that Beck will learn is that Green should know the plays and the decisions made by him and Green will let him know why he made them...

DITTO!

Maaan. I hope Beck is good. Lots of Dolphins fans are getting tired of waiting for the next star QB to arrive in Miami. We want the good ole days like we had with Marino again.

Beck better have every single day of this year planned out and scheduled. He has a lot of work ahead of him. He better work on every teeny, tiny little nuance of his game ... take NOTHING for granted. Just when you think you're good enough at doing something, the NFL gets even tougher and you have to raise the bar on your skills higher. Making it as a starting NFL QB is pretty damned tough. Some people say it's the toughest job in all of professional sports.

That day could come sooner than Beck thinks. It could happen in 4-5 months. Who knows? Players get injured and don't play up to expectations all the time. I hope he prepares himself for that day that he's named the starting QB for the upcoming Sunday's game. That'll be a big day. He better make every day count ... have some measurable progress on something every day.
